Disney+ Unable to Connect

( Solved ) I have an older Nvidia Shield and I have been loving Disney+. I signed up with Verizon’s free year offer.

But for the last three days I have been getting an error message that is preventing me from watching anything.

After the initial Disney logo I get the main interface icons on the left, but on the right where it should display shows I get an all text message saying “Unable to connect to Disney+ There seems to be an issue connecting to the Disney+ service. Please try again later if the issue persists.”

I have cleared the cache, deleted the data, uninstalled and re-installed the App, rebooted my Nvidia shield, router and TV. I even tried Disney+ support chat and they had me go though all of those steps as well and they finally blamed it on my ISP. The weird thing is it works on my phone over WiFi so I doubt that is it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nvidia shield tv, shield tv pro or mi box s?

Hi. I bought an hisense 65" 4k tv. Before, I had a ,not smart, lg hd ready 42" to which I connected a minix neo u1 years ago. That lg is going, together with the minix, to the bedroom. I used the minix to run my mkv's with subtitles through kodi on a usb pendrive. I still want to use this method with my 4k hisense (don't ask, but 8mb adsl internet plays a big part in not wanting anything to do with streaming, plus, it's free movies and series in my country where torrenting is not illegal).

Now, I have 50gb mkv's to play through usb pen. The tv does an excellent job but it struggles with the subtitles. If a remux has 20 subtitles or so, the tv menu only shows 10 or something, even my own srt either doesn't show up or works weird. I loved my xbmc for minix. I want it back. But it is needed in the other tv so, should I buy a mi box s for this or a shield tv (would have to use sd cards instead of usb pens, no streaming, not even internal plex or stuff like that, I like my full remux files connected to the tv for the best sound and video quality) or even a shield tv pro? I just think these shields are kind of overkill since I'm not going to play or stream anything on them. Just want kodi and a good hardware since the mkv's are 4k hdr dts hd and 80gb some times...do you think a mi box s plays these large 4k hdr dts files fine or should I go for a shield?

Is an AndroidTV for me ?

Hello,

can i do the following with an Android TV that costs less than 60euros ?

1/ Download Torrents :

. run a torrent server that I can manage through a web interface from any computer of the local network (to upload a .torrent file, check progress, pause downloads etc)

2/ Power and run an external 2.5" usb drive (2TB)

.formated in exFat, hosting all my medias and downloaded torrents

3/ Run Kodi

. and play 1080p h265 mkv with AC3 audio.

4/ If I go with a Mi Box S

Can I run a custom open source rom ? Is there a way to desolder the microphone in the remote ? I don't care about having another device collecting random datas in my house ( not being paranoid, we all know it's being done by Apple, Amazon and Google all the time (through "accidental triggers" , some of us just decide to care a little)

Mi Box S stuttering when watching HD Live TV in Live Channels

I'm experiencing stuttery picture when watching DVB-T2 HD Live TV in Live Channels app on my Mi Box S. My tuner is MyGica T230 (Geniatech) and I'm using their FTA Tuner Loader app to provide a source to Live Channels app. Codec used by broadcasters is H.265/HEVC.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is anyone using another tuner and has this working properly?

HD video (1080p) plays fine in Youtube.

Can someone with Jetstrem 4k run an speedtest via ethernet using Analiti app?

The ethernet hub adapter that I had on my Mi Box S just died after less than 2 months of use, so I´m thinking about getting the Jetstream 4K rather than buying another ethernet adapter for the Mi Box S (I´ll gift the Mi box to a relative).

Howeer I´m concerned aboutt the speeds it can reach via ethernet. Could someone with that box an mor ethan 200Mbps at home run an speedtest and provide the results.

Based on some reviews that I have read it seems it doesn´t reach more than 100mbps via ethernet...

Netflix Issues On Philips 50PFL5604?

In the last three weeks or so, I have been having issues with Netflix on my 50PFL5604 (which has been far from issue free since purchase).

The issue isn't the usual freezing/lagging issue I am used to getting, and I have not had any recent system updates (besides from the app updates).

The issue gives me the following, stopping playback: "Sorry We Could Not Reach The Netflix Service (-118)"

Now upon attempting to restart the app, I don't even get to the netflix menu and I am prompted with: Sorry We Could Not Reach The Netflix Service (-100)"

Now code (-118) is supposed to relate to network issues, And code (-100) supposedly relates to Netflix's cached data needing refreshed.

Upon restart of the tv, launching the netflix app prompts me to select my account email (not profile) and sometimes requires me to fully log in again. And goes on working for the time being.

It happens randomly but usually at least once per day if using netflix. I have fully uninstalled, cleared cache, and reinstalled with no solution.

Anyone else experience these issues?

Android TV the way to go for watching Youtube on an old TV

Hi guys,

My mum wanted to find a way to watch YouTube on her "dumb" TV, and she doesn't want do it via the other methods such as streaming from another device. Would buying an Android TV device be the way to go? I'm looking at the Xiaomi one which seems pretty nice, but not sure if I would really need to buy an Android TV Box for this.

Thanks

Is it possible to change Google Assistant voice on Philips Android TV?

Basically the title. I have a Philips 65PUS8503 smart Android TV with Android Oreo which brought along Google Assistant to the TV. However, the Assistant voice, or rather accent, is British English.

To me it sounds annoying and I want to change it to the default Google Assistant American English voice, like the one I have on my Google Minis and on my phone but I simply can't find the option to do it.

In the initial TV setup after a factory reset there is no option to select USA as the region, and there's no way to change the region after the initial setup. A quick Google search revealed that Philips doesn't really sell smart TVs on the ameircan market.

Anyway, I have found no options or settings for the Assistant on the TV itself. Is there any way to change that voice or am I stuck with the British version?

Xiaomi Mi Box S - (WiFi TP-LINK TL-WPA4220KIT) Powerline adapter + amplifier + USB to ethernet adapter

I have a pretty slow ethernet speed and have tried multiple ways to improve but not this one.

I want to buy these:

Powerline adapter+Amplifier : https://www.cel.ro/adaptor-retea/kit-adaptor-plus-amplificator-wifi-tp-link-tl-wpa4220-pMCUwMDAv-l/

USB to ethernet adapter: https://www.cel.ro/adaptoare/adaptor-usb3-0-gigabit-ethernet-pluss-hub-usb-3x-usb3-0-well-pMyYwMzwmPw-l/

My questions are:

1.What are the reasons powerline adapter may not make my ethernet travel through the electrical circut?

2.Does the amplifier cut my ethernet speed if it is connected to the powerline adapter? (Does it work like Mesh WIFI?)

3.What are some compatible USB to ethernet multiport adapters that I can use on my Xiaomi Mi Box S? (I have hear that the Ugreen adapter is good but due to this pandemic it may not reach me and I don't have Amazon where I am from.I wanted to buy this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabit-1000Mbps-Ethernet-Adapter-Network/dp/B00LLUEJFU )

This is the way I want to solve all my ethernet problems. I live in an appartment.
