Finally, holy hell this took too long.

My Shield and one of my MiBoxs show as able to add to audio groups, but my other MiBox doesn't show.

Adding these to audio groups also breaks ability to cast to said groups in Spotify.

Guess I'll wait for the bugs to be ironed out.

Edit: Rebooted the one MiBox and got it to show on the list. Now waiting on Spotify to fix their issues.

This is great news. Thanks Google!

Guys you can update the Chromecast app by joining the beta tester group here

Oh wow, a feature that should have been there FROM THR START wasn't?

Hey, what happened to my Nest app again?

It's disgusting how much Google just like ignores the simple shit. That being said, Android TV is STILL better than all alternatives.

It's awesome but all I want is for my Android TV to cast just audio to other devices. Sad face. I know lag issues etc but just give us plus minus and I can watch sports movies and cast to the whole property

I have updated the app on my android tv, but still not able to find it in the home app in Create speaker group section.

Great news! All I need now is stadia support and I'll have a Chromecast ultra paperweight

This disappeared for anyone else?

Updated the built-in Chromecast apps on both of my AndroidTV devices, but neither shows up to be added to groups for me.

So can someone who has this feature available to them explain why this would be useful?

If I had an ATV and, say, 2 Google Max's could I set the speakers up as a L/R for the TV? If so, does that only work when I'm casting, or does it work when going through the ATV UI also? I don't cast often to my TV cause it has an interface (the main reason I went ATV instead of CC to begin with).

Or does this only add the TV to the speaker group so that when I cast some music or a podcast it plays through the TV AND speakers?

Thanks for the explanation.

THE_Celts

Still not on iOS.

this is slightly useful. i feel like most TVs these days have speakers worse sounding than the original google home mini. tinny so i'm not sure i'd want the TV in a speaker group

I've lost the capability on both of my 2017 Nvidia Shield, but not on my 2019 Shield. All three devices have the same version installed (according to the Home app).

Not sure why, but it appears Google has decided to only selectively enable this (for now), which is disappointing. It was working great on all three devices before...

Just in time for Star Wars day.

It was working great and .... they take it away. What is wrong with Google? No wonder Apple is king.
