Is it possible to change Google Assistant voice on Philips Android TV?

by FooFighter312

Basically the title. I have a Philips 65PUS8503 smart Android TV with Android Oreo which brought along Google Assistant to the TV. However, the Assistant voice, or rather accent, is British English.

To me it sounds annoying and I want to change it to the default Google Assistant American English voice, like the one I have on my Google Minis and on my phone but I simply can't find the option to do it.

In the initial TV setup after a factory reset there is no option to select USA as the region, and there's no way to change the region after the initial setup. A quick Google search revealed that Philips doesn't really sell smart TVs on the ameircan market.

Anyway, I have found no options or settings for the Assistant on the TV itself. Is there any way to change that voice or am I stuck with the British version?

I have a similar issue. All my assistants have a male voice but my Philips TV has a female one.

Not sure if you can change that. Never found an option.

You can change the assistants voice and accent in the Google Assistant settings on your phone.
Open Google App > Tap more at bottom of screen > Settings > Google Assistant > Swipe right to Assistant > Language > Change to English United States.
All your assistant device will switch to that accent. From the same settings menu, you can change between different voices and genders.
