I'm at my wits end. I have been trying to download or update an app on my Philips Android TV (55PUS6501) for two hours now. I have:

Force stopped, cleared cache and data of the store and store services.

Reverted the play store to the original version

Changed the network to my Wi-Fi.

Unplugged the tv and waited 2 mins to clear the cache.

And yet, it still remains stuck on the "downloading" or "updating" part without making any actual progress. Does anyone, for the love of God, have any idea how to fix this?

Edit: Found it!

I actually did a factory reset and this did not fix it. But then I disconnected the ethernet cable and switched to my wifi hotspot which uses 4g. Appearantly, even though I Selected the wifi network, the tv Will still use cable when available. And appearantly, Google play can't update on my network for some reason. Might have something to do with the DNS routing of my Pi-hole. So anyway, if you read this future fellow clueless internet goer, try the above!

I have a Xiaomi Mi Tv Stick and I have a huge problem with the wifi connection. There are some days where I have no problem with the internet access and there are other days in which I have to wait til the description of the wifi change from "connection with no internet" to "connection established". I really don't know what to do to fix this, so any idea would be very helpful.

I can not easily see the selection box for some buttons and lists, is there a fix for this?

So I have Philips PUS7304, I had it for a year now and there were times when I was turning on my PS4 I had to adjust color settings because it would constantly shift, like the value was still at 50 but picture would become not saturated, felt like it was at 20 and to achieve color that I would see on 50 I had to turn it up to 80-100, and it would happen time to time. Sometimes I would turn on my PS4 and Colors would look all oversaturated and I had to turn it down again to normal 50 and would repeat again and again. But with PS5 it seems like its always broken, colours look natural only at 80+.
Does anyone have a slightest idea what the hell is happening to it and how do I calibrate it?

I have the new chromecast and I love it. But coming from the fire stick I think it’s a bit odd that there are now dedicated play/pause, rewind, or fast forward buttons. I will say having the addition of the tv power, tv source, and tv volume IR buttons is awesome. I’d love to just pair my fire stick remote to it. Anyone know how?

What are the best TV's as an alternative to a Desktop Monitor?

I am looking between 50' to 55' and I can't find a true tested and reviewed solution - hopefully not sponsored...bc as we know the bias is there.

Tone major reason the Chromecasts are awesome is because regardless of version, they all continue to be updated. With the newest now being based on Android, is anyone else concerned how long it will be before Google will stop providing updates/support?

For Pixel devices, the timeframe is 3 years of updates. Is this reasonable for a Chromecast?

I have an Ematic Jetstream that I'm trying to set up and ftp server on, but almost all the ftp apps on the playstore are apparently incompatible. Is this an artificial limitation of Android tv? I just want an ftp server that will autostart and run in the background.

Netflix, YouTube, casting video - each of them play for a split second and then the video freezes. Sometimes the audio plays and keeps going, sometimes nothing. The little clicks when changing selected tiles on the Google tv interface do seem to work though.

I've tried resetting the tv, Chromecast, forgetting the headphones and re-pairing, always the same result.

Is it really just this buggy? Or is there some way to fix this?

Amazon Prime and HBOMax both can’t send DDP signals through ARC to my Vizio soundbar from Ccwgtv.

But, the apps in my AndroidTV (Hisense H9F), can send the DDP signal through ARC to my Vizio Soundbar.

Is there something about being a built in app vs going through an HDMI that’s different?

Is it possible that that specific HDMI slot is dodgy? (Note Hulu can send a DDP signal from the Ccwgtv. Note the signal Hulu sends from Ccwgtv is DDP 5.0 which is also odd. Whereas the Built in app says 5.1 but doesn’t seem to actually be surround sound).

Or is this just some weird anomaly I can’t fix until I get a new tv later in 2021 when all the eARC, HDMI 2.1, and VRR kinks are fixed?

I have a TCL Series 4. When my TV detects there's no activity going on, say if I close my PS5/Switch, and it's just sitting on an inactive input, it ends up closing the TV after 5-10 minutes. It warns me about a minute ahead of time that it's getting ready to close with a countdown. I went into System settings and Sleep Mode is off. How do I stop it from doing this? Sometimes I just need to turn my game off for fifteen-thirty minutes and come back, and I'd just prefer if the TV stayed on while I do.

I have the Chromecast with Google TV and the IR volume control of my Sony 1080 receiver is flaky, to say the least. It rarely works, and when it does, usually just alters the violent by 1 increment. Doesn't matter if you press and hold or press repeatedly, nor does it matter how you aim the IR hole or distance from receiver.

Google support had me reset the entire CwGTV unit, and that worked for a few days, but then back to flaky. I've retrained the remote many times, but that didn't help.

The receiver remote changes volume fine, as does my samsung tv remote.

Any ideas?

Hello! I have the Metz TV MTB7000 it’s an Android smart TV and lately I’ve been watching a lot of shows at night and I noticed that the brightness is a bit to bright and burning my eyes. I pressed the menu and did not find the option to reduce brightness all i saw was other themes. I would like to know if any way exists to reduce the screen brightness. I looked for software methods the OS has nothing built in.

I just bought a Philips 58PUS7855 with Saphi OS. I don't really watch that much TV so I didn't care to spend extra for Android TV, but I do want to purchase an additional dongle to turn TV into something better, mostly for streaming from PC but also better app support.

I am completely new to whole smart TV thing, so I am not sure what dongle to buy. What I can see, the two most popular choices are Chromecast 4 and Xiaomi Mi Box, what's the difference? Or are there some other alternative to the two?

I'm looking to be able to easily stream whatever from my PC, both desktop and media, have a decent selection of apps to compensate for TV's poor OS. I would also like to stream games to TV if possible, is that manageable on the new Chromecast/Mi Box or input lag is still too big and I need a cable or something else?

I've tried EarthCamTV but it seems to expect me to have a remote control with an awful lot more buttons on it than the Chromecast WGTV actually has in order to navigate easily...

Hello Friends, I thought to share you my successful attempt to run prime video new app on my thomson tv which is not a certified device by Amazon. I have followed below steps and I am using latest version of prime video in my android tv. I am not sure whether all the steps required or not but mentioning here

1. downloaded amazon prime video version apk for shield tv, sideloaded and registered using my Amazon account
2. Downloaded the latest prime video app from this channel
3. installed Apk editor pro
4. select the prime video apk in apk editor pro and changed the package name to Com.amazon.amazonvideo.livingroom1
5. install the modified prime video apk
6. open amd register your device using prime credentials
7. open the app... Hurray.. It works

You can delete the Amazon video ( nvidia shield ) app if you want

Hey gang, So I just bought a new Sony Bravia android tv and set up surfshark. We were trying to watch Aussie Netflix and it kept popping up that we couldn’t watch titles since they weren’t available in our area, despite having our vpn set to Australia and restarting the Netflix app. Can someone give me some tips to try and get this thing to work? I’m super bad with tech so anything would be helpful and thanks in advance!!!

I am trying to change the T shaped T-channel button on my tcl remote using button mapper , but every time I try to select the button by clicking it opens the t channel app instead .

Any possible way ? To do it , for example trying to make it open crunchy roll .
