My Chromecast with Google TV just arrived and I tried to set it up, but HBO Max keeps saying that something went wrong. I have a VPN on my router and have an American Google account, so I don't believe that's the problem. I didn't have to do some weird trick to install the HBO Max app, I could do that through the Play Store. But now I can't open the app without the message: Oops Something Went Wrong. Did anyone else have this problem or have an idea how to fix this? I bought the Chromecast especially for using it with HBO Max, so I'm kind of bumped out that it doesn't work.

Edit: I got it! As someone commented, the VPN on the router could be the problem and it was. Everyone that commented, thanks for your time and helpfulness.

Hey guys i just got a 4k android tv last week. So yesterday i turned my tv on and the homepage looked exactly like the upcoming update for the android tv which has a google tv type look. I was so hyped but i had no idea how it updated to that launcher but i didn't really care so i just watched netflix and some youtube. But after i turned the tv off and then on it turned back into regular android tv so i was super confused and i checked if there was an update available but there wasn't... I really loved that new look though so if anybody knows what happend and how i can get it back please let me know!

Are people still having the issue where they have the crash screen and need to use the button on the device to reboot? or any other issues?

I want to get one as my second android tv device but have been holding off after I saw some of these issues pop up in this sub.

Also I'm a Stadia user and love it. Does the CC w Google Tv handle stadia well?

Hi folks, my girlfriend gifted me the new Chromecast with Google TV for christmas so I could improve my Hitachi 40HE4001. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to set up the remote's buttons to control neither the volume, the input, nor turn on/off the TV. All codes proposed by the Chromecast for an Hitachi TV fail.

Has anybody had a similar experience with an Hitachi TV? (I realize they are not that popular, it's just what came with my rented appartment)

Hi, confused between 2 TV models - sony 8000h and lg sm8100. when I compared the two models in store, lg seemed more natural colors than sony, however it was a little darker as well. not sure if the brightness, contrast etc. were similar or not in the display model.

On the other hand, Sony had way better sound than LG. While Sony is a no brainer, the price difference if around INR 25k (roughly US$ 300) is enough to bring in LG as an alternate as well.

Hey, I just received the new UI-update and was really excited about the new discover page they added. But somehow I can't integrate Netflix into these suggestions. Only disney+ and prime video seem to be available for this service. Is anyone else having this? Is there a way to fix it or will Google fix this anytime soon? Thanks :)

Just to clarify I have to reset it to the current date myself and also automatic date and time sets it to 1999 or something like that so I'm just wondering if this is a hardware issue or software issue. Thanks!

Hoping someone from Reelgood Dev team can help here. Just started using Reelgood App on my AndroidTV. I have selected all my services that I use and have apps for on my TV. However when I check Apple TV+ and Discovery+ It says "Warning! This service does not currently have an app for this device. You may still add it to your guide." However I do indeed have both Apple TV+ and Discovery+ installed on the same TV as Reelgood, along with all the other apps/services that all work... Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max and Peacock.

My question... is this something wrong on my end? Does anyone else here experiencing the same issue? Or is support for Apple TV+ and Discovery+ not active yet or forthcoming? Reelgood is SOOOO close to being my go to for everything. I know I can still use it to keep track of shows on Apple TV and Discovery+ but having to exit Reelgood to go into those apps and then having to go back to Reelgood to manually mark what I've watched when all the other apps work correctly is a pain.

Does anyone know what needs to be done to get a (Apple) Bluetooth trackpad working on an Nvidia Shield TV Pro? I have it paired, and apps like Chrome side loaded, but the trackpad refuses to work in any app. The mouse down button is registered when I click it, but i cant move the cursor at all. Using the virtual trackpad on the Nvidia Shield app works fine however.

On every Android based device I've tried it seems not to be working. The live streams on both my Shields are a stuttering mess. The NBC app won't even start on both my phone and my Vizio. It only seems to be working on my iPad, so I cast it to my Vizio.

No ethernet. Moved working ethernet cable from computer to KM6, still no km6 ethernet.

Replaced km6 with km1 ethernet works.

Anyone else experienced this or any suggestions?

i'm thinking of buying a TCL 55" UHD/4K EC780 Series with Onkyo Soundbar/Soundsystem and hands-free Google Assistant (i dont think i will use this feature..). Can someone give feedback for this model? Is it worth the money or should i spend bit more and buy a better model? I wanna have an Android TV 55".. using the TV with my Horizon Receiver from Vodafone for normal television and Disney+/Netflix/Youtube streaming with this android tv.. any suggestions?

I'm an expat in mainland China. Need a VPN to get out into the world. I currently use the android Openvpn client on my devices. Intend to have Kodi on the box.

Pendoo T95 here comes with Kodi installed, international model. Not certified android TV. 4gb ROM.

Mi box 5 is 2gb ROM. Full certification. Remote has Google assistant. Acts as a chromecast.

Given being behind the Great Firewall, what would be preferable for the VPN and Kodi? Outputting to a 55" budget LeTV HDR TV.

Did anyone ever try? I would like to control the mi box using my Harmony 665. I have a usb ir receiver. How should I start?
