I think Mi Box uses bluetooth remote, not IR.

okay, so here's an update as requested, I have connected the receiver. There was no indication on the device of a new device or anything. I used the MCE mode on the remote, no success so far. I will now check my Harmony application

I can control my mibox with a broadlink IR blaster, works fine but you need the send the correct IR codes which can be found online. All remote functions work.
