Trouble with the IR blaster on the new Chromecast

Hi folks, my girlfriend gifted me the new Chromecast with Google TV for christmas so I could improve my Hitachi 40HE4001. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to set up the remote's buttons to control neither the volume, the input, nor turn on/off the TV. All codes proposed by the Chromecast for an Hitachi TV fail.

Has anybody had a similar experience with an Hitachi TV? (I realize they are not that popular, it's just what came with my rented appartment)

Me. None of the remote options worked with my Hitachi TV.

I got around this, by telling the CCWGTV that I had a Philips TV, and I can now work every TV option via IR, besides turning on the TV.

Everything else works.
