I don't think I can transfer files using Bluetooth like we do in Android phones, also there is no stock browser installed. I don't want to sign to play store for some reasons.

If i can get one apk in there, then the rest will follow.

Hey, today my Mi Box s arrived and I was pretty happy with it until I turned it on again around half an hour ago. Suddenly always when there is sound played via the Mi Box (like on YouTube, Netflix and even in the Home Menu) there is always a strange background sound. It’s kinda like a hissing sound but it as well reminds me of some sort of vibrations like when you hit an object and it vibrates after and emits sound. It’s pretty hard to describe tho My TV does not seem to be the issue because the sound with my FireTV Stick is completely fine. I tried switching the HDMI port, changed the sound settings and even did reset the device. Nothing seems to work, do you have any ideas?

I have and philips Android tv and recorded a movie from cable tv. Is there a way to get that recording on computer and watch it on multiple devices?

I tried an Anker USB-C hub, but no dice, CCWGTV beeps at me to put the correct power to it.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hub (From Amazon please) that works well with CCWGTV?

Does that work in apps like Kodi? Or it's only for premium apps like Netflix?

I recently purchased a Samsung 4K Smart TV for the first time ever. Unfortunately, it doesnt support Netflix, Youtube or HBO in 4K, it only sticks to 1080p@60 when using the built in OS. The 2nd gen Chromecast my prev TV was rocking doesn't seem to do the trick either.

Anyway, I'm in the market for a new 4K TV BOX that can provide 4K support all around. Also, I'm interested in it having support for external HDD's and wired ethernet connection at the same time for 4K playback purposes (home movies and whatnot).

The options I've come across so far are:

- Xiaomi Mi TV Box S: good price-quality ratio, however it has absurd compromises, like only recognizing FAT32 HDDs with the consequent 4GB file size limit. Absurd.

- Google Chromecast with Android TV: it needs a USB-C hub, it's rather pricey and seems like it doesn't have access to Plex/Kodi based platforms.

Hey there, I have a Sony A9G we bought about a year ago. In that time we've just been using the headphone jack, hooked into our stereo receiver. I've been trying to use the digital audio output just because I hear it's better quality. My problem with doing this is volume control. I cannot change the volume with the given Sony remote, the only way it's possible is to turn the big knob on the receiver (it's old and has no remote).

Any way it's possible in Android TV settings? I've poked around a bit and came up short.

Is there any way to manage clipboard across phone and TV (copy on phone, paste on TV)?

Even something like pushbullet would do as long as there's a copy button.

I have couple of local streaming apps on my phone but they're not available on Play Store. Only Apk through their official site. Can I somehow download this APK on Samsung Android Smart TV and install it just like on the phone?

I can't do this on my LG TV because it's running WebOs not android.

I have a Philips 50pfl5604. I promise I have tried to answer this online, but I don't know where else to turn. Philips is closed until tomorrow. My TV has chromecast built-in. I need it off because it is interfering with the TV in the other room. We have never used it but when we try certain apps on the other TV we get a pop-up wanting us to connect to it. (Example is Paramount +, Vudu, and Crackle) we can't close the pop-up on the other TV. All I can figure is I need to shut it off on my TV so it isn't showing on the network. I'm sorry if I am being dense. I really appreciate any help. 🤗

I have an old Android TV box that has been collecting dust for many years: the Himedia H8 Lite. I thought I possibly could revive this box by installing ARM Debian or Arch Linux on it. Problem is that I cannot get into recovery mode through the conventional way.

Pressing down the pinhole button and then plugging power in boots the box onto a screen with the Android robot with the text under it that reads "resetting". I expect the box to boot into recovery mode but it doesn't, it just resets the box to factory settings.

I have then enabled debugging in developer settings and connected with adb over wireless internet. I then ran adb reboot recovery only to run into the same screen; the box gets reset to factory settings without showing the recovery menu at all.

These are the box' device info:

• Kernel version 3.10.0
• Build number HMD-1.1.7 2017-03-15.183641

I can't find any firmware only and the OTA says it's already at the latest version.

Any help is appreciated. My only other option is installing an outdated version of Termux (Android 5-6 support dropped) and make do with outdated packages.

I just bought a new TV. I've been using a CCwGTV for months but just got a new Sony A80J with integrated Google tv. My Netflix shows aren't showing in 'Continue Watching'. I've been watching Netflix shows the last few days, nothing... Also noticed on the 'services' Netflix isn't an option... Are we losing functionality or am I missing something?

I have been using the Mi TV Stick for a few months now, however today suddenly it stopped working and won’t even turn on. Is there anyway I can still save it? Is it totally bricked? How can I find out?

Edit: I do hear a screeching sound from the device when I connect it to power. Is there any way to reset it if it’s not even turning on?

I'm thinking of buying a android tv box, now I use the in build android tv, i'll use it for video files from my 128gb usb drive, my buget is around 60 euros.

It is rediculously slow and I cannot install any apps. I want to know what are the options available to me.

I don't want to replace the TV, is there a way I can keep it and at the same time make it usable?

Can I update the android version, if yes, how do I do that?

Is it possible to use Android TV stick with the this in as it is situation or do I need to change anything?

Most of the time I'm watching Netflix, the audio and image are not synced and that pretty much ruins the whole experience. I need this fixed or I'll go crazy.

I've seen some posts regarding this issue, but not only they're all 2+ years old, but they also have no solution.

Need another box for a new TV.

I use Tivimate for IPTV, Emby, YouTube and YouTube TV and that's about it. Not into 4k or Dolby and all the rest. Simple watcher.

Only thing I may do during sports, boxing, etc., is multiple screens pulling in multiple streams within Tivimate.

I already own a Mix Box S and an Older Nvidia Shield. No issues with either.

Obviously the Shield is overkill for the little I'm doing. So I'm considering purchasing something new, which may be better maintained long term than the Mi Box.

Can Google TV handle this or should I stick with and buy another Mi Box S?

Don't want to give up any performance. Not a cost issue, just wondering which is a better overall device for the cost.

EDIT: Decided to give the MECOOL KM2 a shot because it's in the same price range of the Mi Box S and has a little bit more juice and options. One use case on the new TV is using an SD card loaded with some videos. Seems this box would be better for this use case than the CCwGTV. I'll post my results once I receive it and text it out! Thanks for all the help.

Hi everyone I got problem with my Mi TV P1, it can recognize my ok/hey google but everytime i speak for a command it can't hear my voice, what should i do? from the remote no issue.

So Amazon has a ton of android tv boxes for around 50 bucks. They all seem generic but at this point it all seems like run of the mill tech, I had one of the first Android sticks when it came out and it was decent even back then. Anyone have one of these cheap boxes and are they decent?
