No Box vs Google TV Chromecast

Need another box for a new TV.

I use Tivimate for IPTV, Emby, YouTube and YouTube TV and that's about it. Not into 4k or Dolby and all the rest. Simple watcher.

Only thing I may do during sports, boxing, etc., is multiple screens pulling in multiple streams within Tivimate.

I already own a Mix Box S and an Older Nvidia Shield. No issues with either.

Obviously the Shield is overkill for the little I'm doing. So I'm considering purchasing something new, which may be better maintained long term than the Mi Box.

Can Google TV handle this or should I stick with and buy another Mi Box S?

Don't want to give up any performance. Not a cost issue, just wondering which is a better overall device for the cost.

EDIT: Decided to give the MECOOL KM2 a shot because it's in the same price range of the Mi Box S and has a little bit more juice and options. One use case on the new TV is using an SD card loaded with some videos. Seems this box would be better for this use case than the CCwGTV. I'll post my results once I receive it and text it out! Thanks for all the help.

Chromecast has better hardware than MiBox (newer model of the Amlogic processor), just take into account if you ever play movies from a USB, with Chromecast you would need a hub and it doesn't support NTFS or EXFAT file formats.

Edit: Also, available space for apps in Chromecast is about 4GB, guess that won't be a problem for you, but just in case.

the only downside to chromecast wgt is the internal storage if you're not going to be installing a lot of apps it's ok and better than mi box. I had to use a hub to increase storage and comparing mi box to ccwgt the later takes the cake.

i would rather get the mekool km2 than ccwgtv or the mi box.

You can try the Mecool Km2 (Netflix-Google certified) it’s a box like the Mi Box but better .. Ethernet port, 2 USB (2.0-3.0), micro SD Card, AndroidTV 10, better cpu and GPU.

I was close to get the CCwGTV … but went a saw the Mecool serie I did not hesitate to get one

I previously had the Mi Box S but it’s stuck on AndroidTV 9

How’s wifi performance on ccgtv? On mi box S is really poor. I’m looking for upgrading from mibox S

I prefer my CC w GTV. It feels snappier and I like the UI more.

Same shit. I will always choose MiBox S, for many reasons. Starting with price, ending with that thing hanging on the back of tv, with poor wifi signal, no USB, excessive heat, and so on.....

Many people put faith on that streaming device, to use it with Xbox xCloud service. And the truth is simple. Same garbage like MiBox. It's nothing revolutionary. So go to cheapest way. Google simply lose the start, and after some many years, they realized and came out with that new shitty device, good as the old one are.

The only good point it have a newer processor, but nothing more.

And it's SO UGLY. It's look like a Chinese egg vibrator when you accidentally step on!

And the name...... this is the most STUPID NAME possible. Ho to name it "Chromecast with Google TV" when Chromecast it's a function already embedded in Android TV (or Google TV, it's the same thing). It's like you say "Remote control with TV". Simple stupidity advertised by Google. It's like you say "i buyed a engine with car". The sad thing it's everyone it's ok with that.
