I am looking at getting an Android TV. Currently I use an Android Mi box to stream IPTV channels through the Live Channels/TV IRL app.

But I would like to get a TV that runs Android so I can do away with having the separate box.

Recently I was in a store testing a TCL Android TV. I downloaded Live Channels/TV IRL and inserted my USB stick with the .m3u8 stream playlist.

But in TVIRL, when I went to select the playlist, it wouldn't let me. I can't remember the exact wording of the error message, but it was something along the lines of "this function isn't supported in this app"

I don't want to buy a TV until I can verify that it will do what I want it to.

Does anyone know what I could do to let it allow me to select the playlist?

I'm trying to add my 2k stick to my internet, but need the MAC address to do that. Its not letting me go into settings to get the MAC address without connecting to wifi first, which I can't do without the MAC address so I'm in a bitch of a catch 22. Anyone had this problem? My wifi is through bluerim, which requires signing in, but its just not pulling up the sign in page.

Just FYI, you should be able to ask your Google Home to turn the TV off in an hour or whatever time you like. Confirmed working with CCwGTV at least.

For work I've got a several vizio smart tvs for digital signage. The smart part is worthless for this without a browser or android apps. They're on a mix of using usb drives and 15ish year old pcs for displaying jpeg slideshows. Just need a bunch of cheap devices to temporarily move away from those so they can be remotely managed (very very short staffed) while we wait on a full signage integration that is on back order.

Hey everyone. I just got a Sony X90j and I have a quick question regarding the library tab interface. I have movies I have acquired over some years and I like having them in this tab but is there anyway to sort them? They are all in one line alphabetically and I can’t find how to change that.

I have a Sony A8H which I got at a discounted price due to it being the display piece..

The tv is almost 1 year old and I can see around 10 dead pixels (its not stuck pixels, its black colored) but its under warranty also with Extended warranty. Will I get a replacement? (note: it was a Display piece)

What should I do?

If I am using an HD Homerun, will the live OTA channels show up in the "Live" tab of Google TVs or will I still need to use the app "Live Channels? Or... Will the TV button/app built into the TV allow me to import the channels from the network tuner?

I was testing some Geo-Locked apps (like France.TV app) on my TCL Android TV via a VPN app (VPN Unlimited) but it won't running in background when i opening some apps. There's a way how can i fix it?

I’ve had the TCL Series 6 55R646 since it came out (I even returned it once since it was so buggy, and then bought it again a few months later) and it has had a grand myriad of issues.

But the most prevalent one is that any time I open Disney+ - after watching some content or browsing the app, eventually it will make my tv go “black”. Meaning if I try to scroll I can’t see anything. If I turn the tv off and back on again, I still can’t see anything. The only solution is to manually unplug the tv and “restart” the whole thing and begin again. This happens 4-7 times a week.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone else have a solution? It’s only ever happened to me I think 2 other times - on YouTube or something. But otherwise, without fail, it’s Disney+ and it forces me to unplug my tv.

Almost all of my 4K collection has been converted to MKV. Just wanted to see which of these would be the best choice for me. I would like DV (I know it won’t be exactly FEL but some devices apparently does BL+RPU, and it works well, this is the biggest point of confusion) and Lossless Atmos (TrueHD and other lossless formats). It does not need to play any of the streaming services. It will be used exclusively for files stored on a NAS.

Zidoo Z9X - don’t know much about it

DuneHD Pro Vision 4K Solo - don’t really need the internal HDDs

DuneHD Real Vision 4K - seems like the same thing as other one without internal storage.

MINIX NEO U22-XJ - this is supposed to able to play the DV FEL P7 from MKV but I have no idea if it does. Don’t know if it can do lossless audio either

Reavon UBX100 - as a UHD player maybe this can do DV FEL P7 from MKV?

Anything else I should be considering? I am trying to see what would be the best for my case. It’s all a bit too confusing.

I'm in the market for a new TV and I'm seriously considering the Sony Bravia XR X90J. It comes with Google TV, which is a plus for me given my love for my little Chromecast. When considering the Samsung, my second choice, I just think of all the smart features I'm unlikely to use!

Anyway, is there any difference between the Google TV in the Sony Bravia and the one in the Chromecast? Can I install the same apps from the Google store, such as streaming and VPN apps, and sideload other apps, or is the system on the TV somehow restricted or different in any significant way?

Subtitles appear in every video I start in the YouTube app. So for every video I have to turn it off.

This has to be due to an update?

I have tried to check/uncheck boxes in the settings, but not help.

Hello I wanted to buy a fire tv cube to stream in stremio 4k but I don't know if it has enough cpu and gpu power to stream 4k in stremio someone who has it can tell me if it can or can't stream 4k

The Onn device would be perfect for my applications on paper, but after watching Twitch via Cast on it, it consistently drops to a message that says "something went wrong, try casting again" and disconnects from my Wi-Fi. It reconnects pretty soon after, automatically, but the interruption makes it completely unusable compared to the non-AndroidTV Chromecast V3 I'm trying to replace with it (mostly for SmartTubeNext).

Anyone else have issues with this device not staying connected to Wi-Fi? I've already returned one of these Onn 4k devices due to this problem, but the second one having the same problem seems like something to ask other users about. The device is approximately 4 feet away from my Wi-Fi router (Linksys Gigabit WRT1900ACS). I could get a split Ethernet/Power adapter dongle but I don't want to throw more money at this $20 thing if the issue can be fixed in software (and if I can get this one functioning perfectly, I want to replace the Chromecast that's in another room that won't be able to use a wired connection). The adapter people seem to be recommending for power + ethernet on this device is like $15 by itself.

EDIT: I figured it out in my case. No idea why, but the default DNS on the device are set to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, changed these to 9.9.9.9 and 1.1.1.1 and it hasn't thrown the error since.

Update AGAIN: I switched to Ethernet anyway, and the problem came back until I also changed the DNS settings off of Google DNS for the Ethernet connection.

Hello, i have an Android 11 TV and use an 32 gb usb 3.0 drive as an extended storage. My issue is that everytime when i turn off and turn on my tv, the drive gets disconnected from software front, it does reconnect after few seconds but sometimes it doesn't which makes my tv unusable, it becomes like total blank and i have to turn off/on power supply all together to restart it. Is there any way to make usb drive not disconnect upon turning off ? Thanx
