It's not super clear what you're asking. I think you're saying a user doesn't like the remote that comes with the CCWGTV, and wants to use a different remote?
If so, you have a few options:
Use an app like the one from Google .
Buy a third-party remote. That means either using a bluetooth remote, which IMHO are usually crummy to use, or using a remote with a dongle, which requires a USB hub on you CCWGTV.
Use a Flirc and whatever remote you want. Of course, this also requires a USB hub, and the remote still does whatever it did before, so if you want to use one remote for both the TV and the CCWGTV, you have to make sure the buttons you program on the Flirc aren't used by the TV.
Buy the Walmart ONN stick & pair that remote with your Chromecast. It has channel +/- buttons that work with YTTV.
I didn't like the remote that came with my TV, so purchased this remote and used Button Mapper to get functionality that wasn't ready to go out of the box.
I don't think YTTV is designed to "flip channels" like a TV or cable box. YTTV doesn't have channel numbers either, so you can't just type out 123 and expect YTTV to do anything with it.
YTTV has a horrible interface. It doesn't have a clock. If you exit the app while on a "kid friendly" show, it will pause it indefinitely and when you return, the guide will still be on the time when the stream was paused, but it purges expired guide data, so the guide will be blank until you navigate from Live to Home or Library, then back to Live.
Would Button Mapper help?
