Hello, I have a tcl 55 P8M, and I have a denon avr 1712 receiver, the tv is connected by the tos link optical cable, my problem is that 5.1 surround sound only works on netflix and Plex, in other apps it wont work, i have already tested it on amazon, telecine, HBO and kodi, and nothing work.

I contacted the manufacturer and they said it's an application problem, since it works on netflix.

Someone can help me with it?

I have a number of films stored on GoogleDrive. Is it possible to play these directly on AndroidTV without screen mirroring etc?

Also some films are in .MKV format if theres an extension that needs to be installed to play these? Otherwise most of the films are in .avi, .mp4 etc.

I'm darn impressed with my ONN UHD streamer. So much so it completely replaced my Intel 4th Gen LGA 1150 HTPC I was using. I like the layout, the speed, the interface, the silence, the ease of use, pretty much everything about this little dongle.

That got me to thinking, how long before these cheap sub $100 SoCs really start eating into Intel/AMD's entry level desktop space? Probably only a matter of time right?

Recently i realised that my Chromecast with GoogleTV does not play any content in apps other than YouTube at 60fps. This is the same case with my Sanyo Android TV as well. People say that Netflix only plays at 24fps but when i tried watching TASM 2 on my old Chromecast Gen 1, it played at 1080p50hz and at much better audio quality.

I suspected it might be the TV's fault so i tried both on same LG TV and found same result where Chromecast with GoogleTV showed it was playing at 1080p60hz when it actually wasn't and the Chromecast Gen 1 played it flawlessly at 1080p50hz.

I tried changing the Google TV resolution to 1080p50hz as well but found no difference.

I have tried Netflix and Disney+ as well. YouTube plays fine at 4k60fps.

What can I do to fix this?

I just got the leap-s1 with android tv 10 from my provider and I can’t get it to work with my Sonos playbar grouped with two surrounds Play:1. The tv box is connected with a HDMI to a Sony Bravia TV. The Sonos playbar it’s connected to the leap-s1 with an optical cable (SPDIF). I don’t see any configuration menu for the home theater output. Sound does come out of the playbar but I can’t control the volume with the remote control of the leap-s1. Also no sound out of the surrounds. They work, I check playing music from my phone to them.

Any ideas how to configure this thing?

Does a better faster or more ram translate to a better picture quality?

I own a shield and ONN which are on opposite ends of the pricing spectrum. Aside for the Shields AI and other bells and whistles I’m wondering if the physical hardware truly yield in better PQ. I can argue if a device is obviously struggling that it would skip frames or other tearing issues. How if both are running smoothly without any obvious issues should we all get the same quality on the exact same screen resolution refresh color depth etc.

Can anyone shed some light or technical explanations. Or links? Thanks.

I have a Xiaomi Mi Box that I just bought no more than a month ago, also I have a pair of HTC buds that I've used to watch Netflix at night, yesterday I was trying to pair them but they kept disconnecting, sometimes they got connected but the audio was cutting out and fast forwarding at the point of being un-usable, I already cleared cache on the Bluetooth app, factory reset the box but nothing seems to work, on my phone they work fine but I can't use them for anything on the tv box, has anyone fixed this issue?

It seems like, depending where you are, the Home button (on the TCL Netflix/Youtube controller) will actually take you back a screen or two, but not necessarily to the actual Home screen.

For instance, it might take you to the Search, Discover, or Apps screen, but not necessarily the 'Home' screen -- unless you hit the Home button again, in which case you will be taken to the Home screen -- if you were not there already.

Do I have this correct?

I was starting to think the Home screen was really a set of screens, based on the Home button not actually always taking you to the Home screen, but now I'm thinking it's just an intentional quirk of the controller function, and there really is only one Home screen.

I'm looking for something to buy, but see

1. Fire TV stick 4K.

Bought one nas was impressed by how fast and reliable it is, plus it's cheap and the controller is great. Only it died on the second day and I got a refund. Plus, I prefer Google stuff, so no integration with those AND FireOS and its store didn't impress me.

2.Realme TV stick 4K. Boufht this because Google TV has a great interface and I saw more than a dozen positive reviews about it Turns out it's a crappy streaming device. Performance is abysmal and I'm probably throwing it in the trash bin. Worst purchase in a year.

RetroArch makes the thing freeze.

3. Xiaomi TV I had very bad experiences with Xiaomi, I think it's a trashy brand and I'm steering clear from anything they make.

4. CCwGTV Perfect on paper, I wanted this one, BUT it costs $120 here and does not support my language, which means no google Assistant

5. ONN TV stick, cheap, but I fear terrible performance despite dozens of positive reviews, like the Realme TV stick. Plus, it doesn't sell outside the US, which means I'll need to pay an extra $20 for parcel forwarding, kinda defeating the purpose of buying something that cheap

6. Me cool netflix certified boxes They sure look interesting 🤔

Any ideas? Google TV is a plus but tbh honest I don't care, as long as it

1. Provides standard Android TV rather than fake skins,
2. it runs Netflix and certified apps
3. Doesn't turn into a massive slug after installing a dozen apps (Realme stick has this issue)
4. Can run RetroArch for things like SNES and psx

Starting today the NBA app which I use for league pass no longer opens on my android tv. It was working fine up till today. When I open the app it closes right away and takes me back the the android tv home screen.

I've tried: -Reinstall NBA app -Restart TV -Clear Data + Cache

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I need your help. I just connected an old 320GB USB HDD to my Sony XR55A80J and let it format and "transfer the data" within the system settings.

The question is, why all the apps seem they are not using it? If I go into the settings and look into Netflix for eg. it says that it's still using the internal shared memory (I don't know the exact english terms, I'm using the italian OS).

Same as when I install a new app, it still uses the internal memory.

Am I wrong to think that using a USB HDD would "spare" the "stress" of streaming apps to the internal memory?

Hello guys, i want to ask, is there a way to play dvd format on the mecool km2? i got it connected to my home theater and i want to listen to some concerts i got, but not in disc format, The files are in an external drive, and i've been running it through VLC, but cant get it to reconognize it as "DVD", it just play the videos, but cant get to select the menu, or songs from concerts.

I was just wondering if it was possible to set up custom IR signals to be sent from the CCwGTV remote control. I've lost the original remote for my TV and it would be handy to be able to bring up the TV's settings menu to change things like backlight.
