Just being looking into updating my android TV to Oreo to get the lastest features because Sony are not going to bring Oreo to the 2015 models of there Android TV.
Is there a legit and clean rom of Oreo which is compatable with my KDL55W800c?
Also how would it affect the current features like the inputs and Sony applications?

Nvidia Shield. I have a C series and whatever the built in Android can’t do, I use the Shield to make up for it.
Get a Shield, and then you can enjoy the worst non upscaled picture quality for all non 4K content currently seen on any media player going around. 4K TV upscaler hardware is far superior.
Plus Shield ATV with the Pie OS will currently give you incorrect HDR color outputs, due to Nvidia not testing their Pie Firmware properly.
..but it will be a fast little bugger and get continual FW updates.
Short answer is no.
Android OS is not like windows were you can install it on any hardware.
