While trying to watch English Premier League Soccer over the weekend, I could not get the native NBCsports app to work. I tried to restart, uninstall/reinstall, delete cache/data, and continue to keep getting the error "unable to play this asset."
I have the device connected directly using an ethernet connection. I can use the app on my phone and cast it to my device but the native app doesn't work. My Roku was able to play the games. Any reason why I keep getting this error or how to alleviate the issue?

What is the best TV to watch sports on? I am a Samsung person but got talked into the Sony x900H and I realized some blurry viewing Ball Flickers in the air when watch football etc. How can I fix that? if not what TV should I be looking at

Ever since the redesign from a couple of weeks ago, I cannot load any external subtitles. Whenever I choose select subtitle file, VLC either crashes or a window overlay says loading sits doing nothing. Is there any fix for this?

Is there a good alternative to VLC? I'm not looking for a media library app like Plex or Kodi, just a simple media player that has subtitles support and can increase play speed.

Just got a Google TV with Chromecast device. I seem to be missing the 'For you / Movies / Shows' tabs on the main screen. All I have is 'Search / Home / Apps / Library'.

Anyone have the same issue? Any fix?

Hey fellow Aussie users just wanted feedback on Android TV boxes that run Kayo natively (through Google Play store). To cut a long story short, my brother in law was using a Foxtel now box but this has dropped the Kayo app. He enjoyed the user interface and controller rather than chromecasting but is in no way into Android or tech and needs a simple, "just works" solution. Thanks in advance.

It has again the same annoying bugs that plagued the mibox on Android 7, after a few hours the box will freeze and it won't be possible to wake it up anymore, need to reach the back and unplug it

Years ago I had a patriot brand streaming TV box that could hold a hard drive inside it.

Now I'm looking to give some friends a Christmas gift of an Android box. They have crave, and netflix, but I'd love for the box to play media files. I was hoping to find one that could hold a regular sized hard drive as I have a few spare. (internally with SATA) I also need it to have wifi. It doesn't need to be 4k or 8k, the tv it's attaching to isn't that great. Any recommendations? I'm having trouble finding one.

I downloaded smart YouTube tv but i want to use the YouTube button on my remote but the button takes me to the regular YouTube app with ads. Anyway to make the YouTube button open up smart YouTube tv instead of default YouTube?

I'm stuck using an app from 2014 to control my shiny new Google TV and it doesn't even fit on the screen of my Pixel 4, not to mention that it's still using Android 4.0 home buttons.

The Google TV itself is fantastic but why not update the app?

i can use kodi, netflix, tubi filmrise all seem to work fine but when i try sling, fubo even pluto or live channels wont work cant figure it out

I need to present a Quiz on Multiple (4) TCL Andriod TV's that are not connected in any way(from a Laptop). Running cables is out of the question due to room size and foot traffic.

Does anyone have any good solutions? it is even possible?

ESPN's interface and streaming/cast capabilities is terrible. I will cast from my phone to my tv and put the phone down. 15 minutes later, audio starts playing on my phone and the tv. No reason at all. This has been an issue for months and I'd normally cancel it but I want to stream Pro14 rugby and super rugby along with other soccer leagues other than the premiership. So, I'm looking for any alternatives if there are any in which I can easily do that. I live in the US. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

I have been on a fire stick tv for the last year as up here in Canada the latest Android tv from google was over 3 years old .

Hey guys. I got stadia sideloaded onto my Google TV and I'm stuck at the first screen asking me to sign in. I've got a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard that uses a USB dongle, two PS4 controllers and a Stadia controller.

I don't fancy waiting until 2021 to play on my Google TV, please help!

Each time I open the BBC iPlayer app on my Chromecast with Google TV, after choosing my iPlayer profile and seeing the iPlayer homescreen displayed, the app becomes unresponsive and then crashes, returning me to the Google TV UI.

By a process of trial and error, I've figured out that what triggers the crash is an attempt to navigate (using the CC's remote pad) within roughly the first minute after the iPlayer app opens. If you do this, the iPlayer app crashes about 10 seconds later.

However... if I don't attempt any navigation within that first (approx.) minute after launching, then the iPlayer functions normally.

Anyone else seeing this? Seems to be 100% repeatable for me, across app re-installs and CC reboots.

Hello, i own a 2019 Phillips Android TV and an Harman Kardon soundbar that is connected with my TV through HDMI arc. I have everything set up so that the soundbar turn's on together with my TV. However this feature only works when im i'm using a different HDMI input (for example my PS4) as the TV starts. If the TV starts to the standard android TV homescreen, the soundbar doesn't start. Which is a shame, since i use the android tv interface 90% of the time, instead of a 3rd party HDMI input (PS4). Is there any way to fix this?
