Kayo sports android TV box compatibility

by BrisSci

Hey fellow Aussie users just wanted feedback on Android TV boxes that run Kayo natively (through Google Play store). To cut a long story short, my brother in law was using a Foxtel now box but this has dropped the Kayo app. He enjoyed the user interface and controller rather than chromecasting but is in no way into Android or tech and needs a simple, "just works" solution. Thanks in advance.

Edit 1: Spelling mistake.

Kayo works with the new Google TV on the New Chromecast. Not that he likely wants/needs a new device. Just got it and it's looking more and more like the Plex box is going to just sit there on display.

I use Kayo on the Shield and it works marvelous.

Had Kayo running on my Sony Android TV for a year now, works great.

Just get the new Google Chromecast dongle from JB HiFi

(hint make sure you set display output in devce settings to 50Hz to sync with 50fps Kayo)

Here is the local Aust. support thread for that:

OR on the Foxtel Now Box, install the Wonderbox App from inbuilt Playstore.

It's a Kodi clone.

Then install this excellent Kodi Kayo Addon:

I personally do not use the Kayo App, and use the Addon because there are NO ADVERTS during nearly all AFL broadcasts (prob NRL as well).

The Kayo - Addon Grid EPG is great too for Kayo Live streams.

They also disabled Binge, but my binge app is still working.
