I am experiencing audio sync issues on the built in apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube. The lips of people are out of sync with the audio from the TV speakers.

No sound bar or anything, and audio and video settings are default, although I've tried other settings to try to reduce processing, but that hasn't helped.

Anyone know of any way to fix this?

Oddly if I put up a basic YouTube audio sync video (e.g. twitch has one), it seems fine, so I suspect it may be due to some video or audio processing?

Edit: I just tried plugging in a spare Chromecast, and don't experience this lag with the external Chromecast. But I do experience it with the "Chromecast built-in" and built in apps.

I am trying to get my ps4 controller working wirelessly with my tv but it seems to only work when wired.

I have a Hisense 55H8G running android pie and a dualshock 4 controller model AK8CUHZCT1A. For some reason it pairs just fine and shows up as "wireless controller", but just doesn't do anything when I move the sticks. When I connect a micro usb cable to the controller and the tv, it works flawlessly. Any ideas on how to get it working wirelessly?

I reckon that Google wants to sell their ads to services, but I don't find relevant to see recommendations on my Google TV home page for "Disney+" programs when I don't have this subscription.

SOLVED - SEE BELOW.
We have 2 beautiful 65" LG OLED TVs and have switched from DirecTV to YouTubeTV, using the new Google Chromecast dongle. We can use the app built into the LG tvs - and it looks really good. OR we can use the new Chromecast dongle with the nice little remote and have a picture that is dark, reddish, blocky, pixilated, inferior. Often poor, almost always not very sharp and dark.

Our home wi-fi uses the Google Mesh system, and neither TV is more than 20' from the nearest router. The internet coming into our home is 300MB fiber optic.

SO - we have these new, inferior Google Chromecast YouTube TV dongles that nicely pull everything together, but deliver a really inferior and often crap picture. We complained about the first adapter and after a LOT of troubleshooting, they sent me a new one. SAME problems! What is YOUR experience, compared to what you used before this new hardware?

SOLUTION:

Match content frame rate is under the Chromecast settings under Video.

So long-press Home, Settings, Display and Sounds. Make sure that "match content frame rate" is selected!

That completely fixed the bad video on my LG OLED tvs!

Listening with bluetooth headphone with new Chromecast with Google TV is a mess. When you pair your device with the headphone for the first tiime It works well. However if you turn off your headphone and turn it on again Chromecast connect to the device but doesn't send sound anymore even if you disconnect and reconnect no way it the sound doesn't work anymore. You have to forget the bluetooth headphone and pair it again and again again. I don't know if you are facing the same problem

There is no All4 app for the UK, it is available on Amazon firestick should it not be a simple port?

I have been using Duo on my Shield TV for couple of years already and over the period the quality of the stream has gotten much much better to the point I really liked it on my 65inch TV. I got Google TV last week and was all excited to try Duo on Google's own device. To my surprise, the quality of stream is really bad and it is day night compared to Shield.

Both apps are of same version and have same permission settings. Shield is producing much sharper image and GoogleTV's image is blurry as hell.

The only difference between the two is that the camera is connecting to Shield directly and connected to GoogleTV using usb-c hub.

My camera is Logitech C920, same camera I have been using for couple of years.

One would think Google will have better support for webcams now that they are officially supporting Duo but guess not. I will be using Shield until GoogleTV gets better at this.

Hi, last night I turned on the mibox with the remote and after a few seconds it appeared the screen for pairing the remote. I pressed home+back as illustrated by the animation nothing. On the background there was a dialog something like "Allow to pair" or something like that, it was partially covered by the pairing screen and it wasn't readable. Tried to use the ir remote from a xiaomi phone, didn't work.

So I unplugged the mibox. At restart it didn't ask pairing, remote not working at all. Changed batteries, still not working. I tried to use a Bluetooth scanner on my phone, I can see that the remote is on, and I can pair it to my phone, pressing the buttons can control the phone.

So I thought there was a bug in the mibox software and I reverted to factory settings. Now it was locked at the first animation screen, where it shows to press home+back to pair, and it can't be skipped with the ir remote. Now, I'm lucky because I have another mibox in another room, so I took that other remote and it paired immediately with the tv

So... seems that the remote is dead? But it can pair and control my phone?

Ps: how to setup the Google account on Android 9? The screen says to tell my android phone "ok Google setup my device" but the assistant is dumb and setups an alarm called "my device". I didn't found a menu for pairing

I'm trying to get the google assistant to play certain channels on my IPTV app. Any IPTV apps that natively support Voice commands? If not, is it possible to navigate the interface with your voice? Might have a solution if you can.

Anybody else going through this? My Sony (Android smart TV) just went through an update and now it's unresponsive. It started with severe lagging when toggling between apps and now it just freezes. I deleted all apps that I don't use (to free up space) and checked my network settings (LAN connection) and my high speed internet is fine. Anyone else going thru this?

I got a 85" Sony X900h. They recently pushed several apps that I want to remove, that I will never use. Apple TV, etc. What's the best and easiest way of rooting it to remove these apps?

Hello, since this week Tidal no longer works on the inactive screen, (don't know if it's called any other way in English) At least if you choose it directly. When you exit the app, a mini player is displayed, but when you click on it, the app hangs. That doesn't work at all with Plex. As soon as you click the Home button, the app closes. Is there a solution for this? The only app that works is Spotify!

Got myself a new chromecast with google tv so I can run apps on it.
Before I only used it for watching movies and series but now that I can run apps I'd like to install some party games. Things like mario party and such :)

To add to that, I do not own a controller and would like to use my android phone as a controller but have not figured out a good app for this yet.

So far I have read that retroarch is a good start and I would like to play Mario Party 4 on it using my android phone as controller.

Is there anyway this is possible?

I have the Blitzwolf VP-3 which have Android TV 8 built-in, but the OS version is really crap. So much slow and now Im having an annoying bug which I cant turn it off, its always restarting.

Anyway, I wish to install custom ROM but Blitzwolf don't offer any support. They already sent me one .bin file with other firmware, the process was to put it in USB root and boot pressing volume down, but this firmware update they provided still really bad and still the bug.

So I just found out about Smart YouTube TV and as someone with ADHD who has to watch 99% of videos in 2×, absolute god send. I have no clue why playback speed isn't built in or at the very least able to be changed when casting from a phone.

Anyway, what other apps do you guys deem almost necessary like this?

I installed yesterday my Chromecast Google TV dongle and, don't know why, I don't have the "For you" tab. I have subscription with Netflix, Disney+, Spotify for a long time. As so, no suggested movies and, to watch them, I need to enter in each APP. Some of you have also the same problem? I'm located in Europe, Belgium.

I tried to watch a movie from Amazon prime through the Google TV app, but an error came up saying about HDMI connection. I then tried to cast from my phone to the TV and it said that the video is unavailable?

Any help or fixes are welcome!
