I tried to watch a movie from Amazon prime through the Google TV app, but an error came up saying about HDMI connection. I then tried to cast from my phone to the TV and it said that the video is unavailable?

hmm, it seems that have fixed itself, now i can watch Borat! thank you helping though :)
My Hisense TV with Android TV was giving me a lot of grief when I tried to watch many videos like Amazon, YouTube TV, Disney+. etc. I had t completely format the TV to fix it. I don't really know what happened but now the TV is working better than ever. Good luck!
