Android TV Audio Lag - TCL 50S434

by digitil

I am experiencing audio sync issues on the built in apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube. The lips of people are out of sync with the audio from the TV speakers.

No sound bar or anything, and audio and video settings are default, although I've tried other settings to try to reduce processing, but that hasn't helped.

Anyone know of any way to fix this?

Oddly if I put up a basic YouTube audio sync video (e.g. twitch has one), it seems fine, so I suspect it may be due to some video or audio processing?

Edit: I just tried plugging in a spare Chromecast, and don't experience this lag with the external Chromecast. But I do experience it with the "Chromecast built-in" and built in apps.

Recently got the same tv when it was on sale a couple weeks back...Finally got around to setting it up yesterday....I was having the same issues with audio but with a soundbar, Didn't have any initially with just the speakers...but made sure the system was up to date pretty much right away..switching to pcm audio solved my issue....Did you try updating, rebooting etc?

I had somewhat similar issues on my 50S434 - check out my troubleshooting and eventual decision to use an HDMI switch with audio extraction: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/jpjfkb/audio_delay_from_tcl_50s434_to_soundbar/
