I am not able to find a complete list of supported 4K/UHD tv box from netflix. Can you suggest one that works out of the box?

Mandatory, at least one USB 3.0 port

Optionally, I would like to have an ethernet cable

I subscribed to check out the fanfare YouTube makes about its premium service 🍻

BUT, where is the "YouTube Originals" section in the YouTube for Android TV app? 🤔

The Android mobile app has an "Originals" button along with a "Music app" button located at the top of the "Home" tab, I was expecting to get something similar with the ATV app 😡

Is there a way to make text or icons larger?

I looked in settings and there doesn't seem to be one.

My Mibox has larger text and app icons than my CCwGTV.

It's not unbearable, just curious if anyone knows if it's possible...

This happens in my Android 9 box in different tv sets and with different video apps (iptv, YouTube..., other streaming apps) but not with Twitch video captures, which are ok.

My other Android 10 box video captures are ok, too

I have tried chanching screen resolutions and refresh rates to no avail

so, i am blind, and have an android tv because uhhhh talkback so its amazing. spoilers, its not that good. i can open netflix and navigate it aswell as youtube. but my pc can do that better in my opinian and have u block origin for no adds anywhere. so, what the heck is the point of having this tv and not just switching to a dom tv that i have, convince me to prefer this somehow, what can this do that my pc definitly cant do

I have the Nvidia shield TV and saw that adguard works with a VPN if you use the HTTP proxy mode (no auto as that requires root). I have set it up and am trying to use it alongside Purevpn, I have VPN on split tunneling as I require certain TV apps to use my real IP. I make sure both adgurd and VPN are connected then when I test to see if ads are blocked seems fine, when I switch to a app that requires VPN, seems to work fine - when I switch back to the app to test if ads are blocked they all appear again, and the only way to get them blocked is to go deep into settings, change http proxy mode back to Vpn mode, then back to proxy mode before it works again, but same issue when I switch apps.

has anyone got this working on android tv?

I've seen you can somehow block ads by adding something to the router config so then all devices connected have ads blocked, is there anyway to achieve this without an additional device as I don't have a pc or rasberry pi. I just have android devices

Please don't mention pi hole as I don't have money to buy one right now otherwise I would.

So I recently bought a pair of sennheiser home theater headphones. I was extremely excited to watch godzilla vs. kong with these new headphones, but to my disappointment the headphones seem to not be compatible with the app. I tried other apps and as of now it seems like the only other app that is not compatible with my headphones is disney+. I saw a few other posts stating the same issues, but no clear way on how to fix it. Are these apps just not compatible with headphones? Or is there some sort of workaround? TV File Commander can access and read the USB and see the files, I cannot get Retroarch to even realize there's a USB storage attached. Not sure what to do, can anyone help? Thanks in advanced.

I'm researching TV brands to replace one of my older sets. One of my requirements is that the TV will not be connect the internet - I'll use a connected Roku for that. Does anyone have a "no internet" experience with a newer version of AndriodTV?

I assume it will let you run the TV this way, but does it constantly nag you about not having connectivity or do some other annoying thing every time you use the set?

I'm having a TV restarting problem ever since setting up my new Shield Pro 2019.

My setup is:

Sony X900F with Android 9

v

Denon X3500H

v

Shield Pro 2019

CEC is disabled on all three devices. AVR is connected to the TV on the ARC port, but ARC is disabled. The Shield remote is programmed via IR to turn on and off my AVR and TV.

The situation:

1. All devices off

2. Press power button on Shield remote

3. All three devices turn on (TV to HDMI 3 - ARC, AVR to Shield)

4. Begin watching content on one of my apps on the Shield

5. After 3-20 minutes, the TV will completely shut off, turn back on, and begin booting through Android TV

6. Begin watching content again

At this point, this happens every time I first watch content on the Shield. This did not happen prior to using the Shield. This does not happen if I do not use the Shield (only turning on the TV and AVR and watching content on the TV's built-in apps).

I thought this might be a classic CEC issue, so I disabled CEC completely and only have the Shield remote set to power on/off devices via IR. All energy saving modes are off. The TV is set to stand by for 24 hours, but there's less than 24 hours between this happening.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

Normally I don't mind ads, but at least in Canada we have the problem where ads are 100x louder than the actual content. CBC Gem or CTV apps on Google TV are terrible for me to use. They have low volume so I have to raise my TV volume pretty high and then I get blasted with deafening ads whose volume is way higher.

Right now I've resorted to the high sea's, but I'd rather use the actual apps if I can. Is there an ad blocker for Google TV that will block these loud ads?

I recently picked up a sparingly used 50" 4K TV, TCL (Model No. L50E5800) from an old couple, in hope of streaming 4K content on Netflix. I have a PS4 so the only output it has is FHD1080p. I thought it was a smart TV, but it isn't so smart. It has apps like YouTube, Facebook Lite etc that don't work. The app store looks like its from the 2000s. No Netflix app to download. The whole interface doesn't seem to be running on Android but rather some slow clunky different OS like Linux or something and the software version shows its up to date.. Tried to download some 4K videos to play on the TV via USB but it apparently doesn't support the format(extension) of the file too.

Any way, is there a way I can upgrade the OS so that I can have the android Play Store or at least a way to side load and stream 4K Netflix on this TV?

I've got a Sony kd759000h (androidtv) and I've been able to connect a ps4 controller to it, to be able to play steamlink games with it.

I want to connect 1 more to be able to play couch coop games, but can't seem to find any info on having more than one connected. I don't have a secondary controller to test it out, and don't want to fork out the cash if it doesn't work.

Has anyone had experience with more than 1 Bluetooth connected controller working?

Is there any way to manually upgrade this model to the new Google tv? I have tried using 'check for updates " and it says it's up to date . Is there a manual way to get the Google Tv instead of the current android tv. This is a 2018 model.

So, overall i guess it works, but two things irk me enough to make me want to return it tomorrow

1. the un-hidable ads on the home screen. 70€ to get an ad shown to you as soon as you boot up your tv??? Fuck google, absolutely insulting. Can't get that Disney + shot off my screen no matter how hard I try.

2. Wow, the account management system is one of the worst ones I've ever seen on any premium device.

So, I'm definitely returning it tomorrow, and I'm just considering spending half for the mi box s or mi stick, do they resolve these issues?

pardon my ignorance but will a TV with android TV included inside will have the same performance as if I bought chromecast with android TV? I'm looking at light android gaming and snes/n64/psx emulation and steam streaming
