Don't want internet connectivity

by tw_bender

I'm researching TV brands to replace one of my older sets. One of my requirements is that the TV will not be connect the internet - I'll use a connected Roku for that. Does anyone have a "no internet" experience with a newer version of AndriodTV?

I assume it will let you run the TV this way, but does it constantly nag you about not having connectivity or do some other annoying thing every time you use the set?

Why even focus on Android tv sets. Just buy the nicest set regardless of the OS that's on it. Even if you have to connect to set the TV up, just forget the wifi after and keep it on the input for your streaming stick. It shouldn't be rocket science.

You'll be reminded, but that's it.

AndroidTV is good for local playback (VLC, Plex, Kodi) and emulation.

TV notifications should only appear when on TV input. So even if it does nag, you wouldnt see it when using Roku or other HDMI connected device.

Why would you want an Android TV that has no network connectivity. it's not going to be able to do anything it wants to do. No updates, grabbing metadata... To be honest it sounds like what you want is a bargain bin dumb TV from Walmart
