Is anyone aware of a setting that makes a video automatically play on the highest resolution possible? I think it was a setting in the last version of the app but haven’t been able to find it on the new one

Hi. Is there a way to watch Euro 2020 in 4K on the Google Cast or Shield? I have a 2016 Sony tv with ATV which supports BBC iPlayer 4K, but the new Google cast does not. Is there a way to extract the APK, or grab the link to the stream? During the world cup two years ago someone got a link which worked with VLC.

So i got the new Google chromecast with Google tv and i cannot find the photos app. Isnt there one? How is that even possible? Not looking for 3rd party app. Is there a way to sideload an official app? This should be included in the core os.

Does anyone know how to connect the soundbar/surround sound system via the HDMI? All I can find is the Bluetooth connection. I have searched high and low on the internet but only see the Roku steps. Thanks in advance.

Spotify does not show lyrics on TV. Deezer is not available in my country. Musixmatch can show lyrics provided it is played from internal storage, namaste not when streaming from Spotify.

I'm from Indonesia, and the Euro 2020 streaming provider is blocking access from smart tv browser, tried to access using puffin browser on my mi box s and samsung tizen tv browser (from pc browser and its android/ios apps is accessible).

Using VPN is not an option, since they blocked access from abroad country as well.

It seems they blocked user from smart tv browser by detecting browser user agent. Is there any way for us to spoof the user agent to look like we browse from a PC?

So as soon as I installed button remapper and switched on the accessibility for it, the volume keys started behaving weird. Like, it will increase our reduce the volume on single tap but when I tap and hold it, it doesn't increase our reduce the volume continously. Does this happen with all Android TVs? Note that I haven't even configured anything in the button remapper, only enabled accessibility.

I got a problem with my Xiaomi mibox, as soon as i start an Prime Series (Grand tour) my screen gets darker and its greys washed out. This is everywhere, in the menus etc. it only stops when i change the settings. Also my TV isnt showing that it's HDR content (Samsung aprox 2019 LED) it's basically unwatchable this way, can someone help?

My Sony Android TV won’t stay connected to the internet. I’m not having issues with other devices. I’ve ensured that the TV software is updated, restarted the TV multiple times, and restarted my router multiple times. It’s close to the router so it’s not a distance problem (5-6 feet). I’m out of ideas. Please help.

Eero router shows the TV is getting one bar of Wifi and all other devices getting full bars. Even with one bar the TV won’t play anything. It just hangs.

Restarting everything sorta fixes it for like 10-12 minutes but then BOOM problems.

Speed test shows 947 down.

Hey everyone, I recently got a Sony TV running Android TV. On my old TV I was using a Fire TV Stick because its native Apps sucked. What immediately bothered me about the Android TV version of Youtube is the lack of multiple Account support. The App is literally the same as on Fire TV just that it won't allow adding brand accounts for easy switching.

So I installed the Fire TV version of Youtube on my Sony and it works perfectly fine, including multiple account support BUT it won't go above 1080p. When I first start watching a video, it'll run at 360p and as soon as I click on 4k, any option above 1080p disappears from the list and 1080p is the max i'll get.

I know this is rather complicated stuff but maybe someone ran into the same issue and found a solution? Then I could get rid of my Fire TV stick and be happy.

Ok, Philips wasn't great with updates but it's getting worse now. I don't think they have released an os update for existing tvs after android 8. Why? It's not ok

Google said that with android tv 11 will third party controllers support with switch pro controller included.

will this mean the end of June update will bring Android 11 for the supported tvs being updated?

would love to use my switch pro controllers with stadia on my TV. not sure if they already supported by Android tv 9 or 10.

New AndroidTV owner here (Hisense, specifically). I'm trying to find something I can use to control my TV that doesn't require line of sight or a cord, but so far my success with wireless devices has been, uh, not great. Gamepads lack enough buttons, and keyboards seem to make a lot of apps freak out; in particular, many apps will not process any key on a standard keyboard as "OK", won't respond to cursor clicks, so on. I would like to figure out why that is and how to fix it, but that's a "later" problem. Right now I'd just like to find a good bluetooth/wireless remote that I can use to control my TV without having to worry about something being in between me and the screen.

Can anyone provide any recommendations for bluetooth or wireless remotes that work well with AndroidTV?

anyone else running into this? started happening yesterday, can't play or add to queue from the Android YouTube app to AndroidTV SmartTubeNext. get the code from STN, put it into the YT app but I cannot submit it. app shows a white exclamation point but no text as to why.

The device is a Google Chromecast with Android TV.

Every day when I look at my Watchlist, that movie from a service I've never heard of before this is added on top. No one else has access to my Google account (verified logged in devices, changed passwords, have a MFA key). No one else has access to my apartment. Yet every day, Cargo is there. It's always that specific movie from that specific streaming service, and there's no record of it ever having been added.

Is this some messed up advertising thing they've done where they replace your Watchlist with yet another place to put ads and suggestions? I'm at a loss, and the Google Support felt like they thought I was full of crap when I tried to get official support for this bizarre issue.

Does someone know how I can make a fully customised screensaver for my Sony android TV?

So, I received a stick as a gift, and after some apps deactivation through adb is not even half bad. Streaming YouTube/Netflix/prime video is perfect with zero dropped frames, only minor issue is apps are a bit slow to launch.

Then I tried some gaming with steam I have the steam controller, WiFi is good and remote play works very well on my phone but is very strange on the stick. Standard h264 is a slideshow, even at 480p 30fps, which make absolutely no sense. H265 is ok even at 1600x900 60fps balanced quality but not smooth at all. I have zero packet loss, 1 ms input lag and reading the graph only the red line is quite erratic, which should be something like the video decode done on the stick. Sadly the issue persist even lowering resolution and frame rate, not even 480p is completely fine.

Lost frames is all over the place, sometimes is 0.5% sometimes is 25% and medium quality (average 18mbs) 900P loses more frames than 1080p max quality (average around 30mbs)

I know the TV stick is quite underpowered, so there is something that can be done? what is the experience on other devices, like the new Chromecast Google TV?
