I use Chromecast device groups to stream music to multiple rooms, including my new Chromecast with Google TV. On the CGTV, is there a way to return to the Cast screen that shows you what's playing and allows you to control it?

I can see what's playing on a tile in the sidebar and on a tile in the Google TV launcher, but selecting those tiles does nothing. Launching the Spotify app kills the group cast.

Has anyone had success getting the new remote from the Onn Walmart Android TV to work with the Chromecast w Google TV?

I paired them and basic functions work, but I cant seem to get any of the app buttons to work, even trying with Button Mapper. The "channel" up/dwn buttons also don't seem to do anything in any app I have tried.

For months my Mi Box S has had an issue playing any video - youtube, vlc, anything. After waking it from sleep it would only play 1 second of the video (or advert) then freeze. The only way to watch anything was to wake it, then restart it first.

Today I got an OTA update which appears to have fixed this - no problems so far. I'm just posting this for anyone out there who had the same and gave up on the box, so they don't leave it in a drawer and never know it's working again :)

Is there a way to easily switch profiles on Youtube on android TV?

It is mind boggling to me that this is not a thing still. Netflix has a very fast and neat solution, just add profiles under the same account, and then switch via choosing a profile icon.

But on Youtube, if I don't want my algorithms being polluted by 2-year old content, and my wife, I have to sign out and sign in. Plus, there is no smart login or whatever it's called, I have to type very complicated credentials and emails EVERY TIME, even though the accounts are added to Android TV main account control.

Alternatively, is there a better Youtube app that has this solved better?

Bought a TCL 55in 4 series a couple months ago and still having trouble getting the right picture settings for gaming. Has anyone found what the perfect settings are "at least for them"? Also does anyone else have problems with blooming "halo effect" sometimes? And if so how did you resolve said issue?

I have a TCL Android TV and it is going to be replaced under warranty soon. I was wondering if there's any way to backup and restore the current TV's apps and settings to the new one when it arrives, like how it's done in Android phones. It'll save me a lot of time installing all the apps and fiddling with settings as the new TV is going to be the same model. Please let me know any such option is available. TIA.

I am looking to buy two TV's and place them right next to each other (one for me, one for my spouse). Specifically, the "TCL 40" Class 3-Series Full HD Smart Android TV". Does anybody know if this would cause remote interference, or are the remotes linked to only 1 TV?

was working fine until about a few days ago. now i just get a spinning loading thing. i tried clearing data, force stopping it, uninstalling/reinstalling, rebooted device. i just get to the spinning loading. doesn't even get to any credential things. my developer settings are off (i know sometimes that can affect apps).

I just copied an apk in my USB Drive, then inserted it into my android TV. And I found it write some files in my USB drive during installing. After I removed the USB Drive, it refuses to install from App Store now, it says, there is not enough space (I'm pretty sure there is).

I guess it regard my USB Drive as external storage now. Any way to resolve this?

So I got a new AV receiver and 3.1 speakers but I'm unable to tell by just playing snippets of content on Netflix and Plex if the 3.1 is actually working. I've tried setting the sound setting to PCM and SPDIF.

Sometimes, it sounds like the 3 speakers are just playing the same thing. When I press the wrong button on the AVR remote ("STRAIGHT"), only the center channel plays. Is there an easy way to play something in only left, only center, only right channel so I can test it out?

I'm interested in personal experiences with the ONN 4k streaming device. Especially how it compares with the Tivo Stream 4k. Thanks.

I have hisense android 4k TV (hismart 4k atv4) I was excited about getting into android gaming. Even got a dedicated Bluetooth controller.

I install my first game and it tells me I don't have enough space. Do I need to get a dedicated android box to connect to my android tv? Thanks

Hardware wise they look similar, price is similar. But the jetstream/Ematic 4K has more built in features. Built in ethernet, spdif, two usb ports. vs the mibox s with 1 usb port and no spidif or ethernet.

But it seems like more people have the mibox. So im wondering if there isnt some gotcha im missing.
