I've been testing the new Chromecasts w/Google TV and i like the Search function on the remote so much that i want to Install the Google TV launcher along with Google TV Home APK and Google Base APK process as seen below in link to test converting my Shield to a Higher powered Chromecast with Google TV. Its just personal preference. What's also SO awesome is that on the new Chromecast, the Google search and remote works on ALL my sideloaded apps!

My problem is I don't have an original shield tv remote or a Chromecast Google TV remote either. I cant find out if the Chromecast remote will work with the Shield, nor can I find if the Shield TV remote will work with the Google TV launcher just like it does with the Chromecast...
Buying a remote almost costs as much as buying the new Chromecast w/Google TV!
I'm using remote control from my smartphone with Google TV (former Google Play movies) app as described here https://www.androidpolice.com/2021/09/27/hands-on-how-to-android-tv-new-remote
It works perfectly fine unless I turn off the Mi Box.
When turned off bluetooth connection becomes unavailable and Mi Box disappears from available devices in the app. So I can turn it on back only using the original remote stick. But why? The original remote stick works via bluetooth also. Means the bluetooth is available indeed.
Normally, when turned off, the icon should become red but bluetooth connection should persist so I can turn on the box back.
I'm struggling with this for some time, already tried different phones, toggling HDMI-CEC (it has no effect in my case, as I'm connected to a monitor, not tv), checked all the app versions but still no luck.
Also, I noticed that when the remote app is connected via Wi-Fi only, after turning off the icon becomes red and the connection persists. But I can't turn it on of course, because on the latest firmware Mi Box can be turned on only via bluetooth. And when I turn on bluetooth you already know what is happening...
Any ideas are appreciated.
My firmware is the latest one Android 9, build 3933.
Apologies if this is old news - I have seen several posts and articles talking about how Netflix doesn't play nice with the Google TV app, doesn't work on certain uncertified Android TV devices without workarounds, and doesn't always show up in home page recommendations or the like. However, as far as I can tell it should work on official, unaltered smart TV's running the Android TV OS, including those from Hisense.
I recently purchased the Hisense L9G Laser TV and everything works great, except that there is no Netflix app. It wasn't in the list of options during setup and it doesn't come up in a search in the Play Store - as far as this TV is concerned, Netflix doesn't exist. Is this normal, or am I missing something obvious? Is anyone else with a Hisense laser TV having trouble accessing Netflix?
Hello, I have a question. My neighbor (apartment) has an Android TV, and now whenever I'm home, there's a notification on my android phone saying "shared controls: waipu.tv - Android TV", and it gives me the options to pause, skip forward, and skip back.
I can disable the notifications from google play services, but I'm more worried about the connectivity than the notification. I don't want to accidentally connect to, or screenshare my phone to this tv. Does anyone know of a way to block these connections from other people's devices to my phone? Thank you!
