Netflix not available on Hisense Android TV?

by IHaveTheBestOpinions

Apologies if this is old news - I have seen several posts and articles talking about how Netflix doesn't play nice with the Google TV app, doesn't work on certain uncertified Android TV devices without workarounds, and doesn't always show up in home page recommendations or the like. However, as far as I can tell it should work on official, unaltered smart TV's running the Android TV OS, including those from Hisense .

I recently purchased the Hisense L9G Laser TV and everything works great, except that there is no Netflix app. It wasn't in the list of options during setup and it doesn't come up in a search in the Play Store - as far as this TV is concerned, Netflix doesn't exist. Is this normal, or am I missing something obvious? Is anyone else with a Hisense laser TV having trouble accessing Netflix?

My Hisense L5F has Netflix out of the box, and it works great.

I have a lower end Hisense (55H6510G), and have no issues with Netflix working on it.

Hi There, I got Hisense L9G 100 Inch yesterday and it also does not have Netflix. I think licensing issues as mentioned by some other users however this is a Buzz Kill!!

They advertise on Dolby Atmos Support and the biggest platform with Dolby Atmos Content is not supported! I am not happy at all!

They provided a complimentary Fire Stick 4K in the Box which says Atmos Support but that's only limited to Amazon Prime which is already on the Android Operating System of L9G.

I purchased this for my home theatre which is optimized for Dolby Atmos and not having Netflix is a big disappointment. As far as I know only Roku Ultra and Apple TV support Atmos Decoding, on all other devices its just pass through.

Any one has any list which devices decode Dolby Atmos?

I just got the new PX-1 Pro and have the same issue. I can't even cast to it from the Netflix app on my phone (casting from all other apps works fine). Seems like the only solution is to buy a Chromecast dongle, which seems absurd when the projector has Chromecast built in.
