Hello, I have a tcl 55 P8M, and I have a denon avr 1712 receiver, the tv is connected by the tos link optical cable, my problem is that 5.1 surround sound only works on netflix and Plex, in other apps it wont work, i have already tested it on amazon, telecine, HBO and kodi, and nothing work.
I contacted the manufacturer and they said it's an application problem, since it works on netflix.
Someone can help me with it?
To have 5.1 for an app in particular the developer must implement the Dolby Audio code in the app in order for Dolby Digital Plus to be transcoded to Dolby Digital, that's why you don't get audio from apps like HBO, though Prime Video should have it implemented, on Kodi you need to select the correct option in the app's audio settings.
