Tried VLC for Android, but there's no option for usb-camera. With Google Duo or another video calling app you get video stream from usb easily, but menu overlap it. I need only live stream from usb-camera and full-screen.

Hi, does any one know whether the new Sony Android TV model still uses the armv7 architecture? I just got a Bravias XR-65X95J in China that does not come with Google Play Store (don't get me started...) I tested a Netflix arm-v7a apk and it did not work.

In addition, can anyone please point out a link to how to change the startup interface to the one of the US model, or at least how to set up Google Play Store (including whatever other components needed for it to work)? Thanks for the great help.

Spent the evenning looking up android tv boxes as I am tired of having a laggy user experience on my android tv.

As such, my main criteria is fluidity. Second is having a box that boots fast, and "just works", especially in the long run. I only use my TV for Netflix and Prime video.

I've decided to buy either the CCGTV (chrome cast with google tv) or the Mecool KM2. Based in the criterias, what box would be best for me ? I can buy both of them for roughly the same price.

I don't have one of those google assistant thingies. One of the reasons is that my Android TV boxes are supposed to have google assistant in them. And they kind of work for that. Except that I cannot really make routines in which the "mibox" or "chromecast with google TV" play sound. Because for some reason they don't count as "audio devices" even though they certainly have audio in them. Is there a way to let google assistant know that my TV is (shockingly) capable of playing audio?

When I go to the apps screen, there is a box for "search for apps and games". selecting this brings up a text box. Entering text here brings up content suggestions (not a good sign - ex: "steam" suggests "steamboat willie"). Then on attempting to execute the search, it jumps to a "google assistant" wizard type screen at which point it's clear it's not going to do anything useful so I bail.

So, any idea how to search for apps?

I have tried multiple music streaming services (all as a premium member): Tidal, Spotify, Youtube Music, and none of their Android TV app can add a song to a Now playing queue -_-. So I need to wait for the song to almost finish, then hit play on another song.

Is it a problem with my Android TV (hardware) or a software problem? Do you know a service that can do that very simple functionality?

I recently bought couple of Xiaomi TV Sticks and I have installed one of them at home and I installed a number of IPTV Apps on it. From time to time, the Stick keep losing the synch with the Remote Control. The stick is no longer respond to the RC. However, I was able to control the stick through Google Home App. The only way to get the RC to work again is by removing the power from the stick. Is anyone still getting such problem?

Is it possible to wirelessly transmit the image from the mi box 4k to the wanbo X1 projector via wifi 2.4 GHz? From the phone it is possible through the projection mode.

the only thing it shows is the security patch level updated to jan 2022. will check it out and update if i find anything else.

I bought the 'Google Chromecast with Google TV' in August from Best Buy. It's been great! I've loved it! But the past few weeks it won't stop LAGGING. I've tried restarting, clearing the cache, switching the HDMI port, looking for updates, etc. I haven't done a factory reset because I don't want to reset all my apps... but if it's definitely going to fix it I will.

It's not the wi-fi because I have no problems on my phone or laptop. But if I try to play anything through the Chromecast or Google TV it buffers nonstop. I use my building's wifi and I only see one network available - no 2.4 vs 5, but I saw some posts say that was their problem, could it be mine? If so, how do I fix it if I don't see both networks? It worked fine from August to end of January.

I've looked through other posts, but most seem to have different problems (like their screen glitches, or they have a 'realme', etc).

Excuse me for this specific type of question.

I recently changed my ISP and now have a new TV plan which comes with an Android TV app. But since I don't use a TV and basically do everything via my computer, I'm looking for a way to turn my old laptop into a TV. Unfortunately, the laptop only has a few USB type A ports and one HDMI out port. Would it be possible to connect a Chromecast via USB, for example, or are there alternatives? I only need to be able to watch Android TV via my laptop.

EDIT: As some of you guys suggested I installed Android Studio and created a virtual device which worked perfectly well. Thereofore this question is solved.

Would love to rant, but instead of that I'd be thankful for your help with two topics:

1. The Sky X Streaming App, which I pay for via subscription, does offer an Android, iOS, Windows and Playstation App. But no Android TV App. Nice. When trying to sideload, different build versions either force close or open in the wrong orientation. Are there any good workarounds / patches / apps that help solving this to basically enable this App to work on Android TV? (The app works on tablets, so why not Android TV?)
2. Based on that, why would a huge STREAMING company not adapt their Android App to be compatible with Android TV, since years? It can't be pure stupidity, any ideas if the reasons are security concerns or other weird blockers?

hi Guys. I've been using a chromecast for iptv and netflix and I am looking to get something faster and perhaps better. I have narrowed it down to either km2 or youin. which should I go for? does one box have any advantages over the other? thanks

More details: I have an older Vizio that I used with my Shield. I loved the experience until Google started feeding me ads at the top of my home page. So I sideloaded something else, created just a simple home screen with my most used apps and away I went, ad-free.

I just bought the X91J. Thought I'd give stock Google TV another crack. Its been 36 hours and I am already miserable. Besides the one big ad at the top, my home screen is filled with "top picks" and other "suggestions", which if we're being honest, are just more ads.

TLDR; Can I sideload a custom launcher on the X91J, the way I did with my Nvidia Shield ?

I have realme 4k Stick with Google TV 11 The GUI is very laggy, and have like frame drops in menu's .. I noticed lot of Chromecast users complaining about same bugs ... It's probably a firmware bugs and not hardware . You think Google is working on update for this OS ? Very annoying, and feel not responsive at all...

Hi, I want to buy a new TV Box for my old 1080P TV and I want to ask your advice.

I would use it mostly for watching HBO Max and Disney+ which will come to my country (Hungary) soon. I also have a 120GB external HDD for watching other movies and would use the box via 5Ghz wi-fi. But most importantly, I want to use/control it via my PC, while my family would watch it on the TV at the same time. (I'm disabled and can't use the remote control.)

Which device would you recommend for me (which I can probably buy from Hungary)?

Why is it that everything that's Dolby Vision and plays through Google TV looks like that flat home video and can anything be done about it ?

I have it set to match content and 4K60hz though changing to 24hz doesn't do anything about the issue. 

Also, why does it go to the home page when I cast from my home? Why doesn't it switch automatically to the cast content like the previous versions?

Sound is also out of sync so so far I pretty much regret upgrading...

This may sound silly, and I usually have a pretty good grasp on google-foo, but I cannot for the life of me find one specific photo from the stock backdrop/screensaver for my tcl/android TV.

It's the one with the chess pieces with the queen is leaning on/holding up the king. It comes up seemingly every other month and I'd really like to find the original. Any help/tips?
