Hey guys today I bought a Google Chromecast and apparently it doesn't work. I've tried to use it on two different TVs in different HDMI ports and it doesn't show any image on my tv, and it doesn't recognize it. Pressing the bottom for factory reset also doesn't do anything! It has an orange continuous light and don't know what to do

Hey so I found out that apparently my Roku TV isn't allowing me to use my TV to it's full specs anymore and 4K content has been really chugging with skipped frames. I'm now looking into an Android TV (not a fan of amazon/apple) and hoping for some advice. My requirements are basically streaming 4K/Dolby Vision/HDR video content, with Dolby Digital Plus for audio over ARC (my AVR doesn't support Atmos and only has 1080p inputs).
Here's the services my wife and I primarily use on our living room tv:
Paramount+ (this is what sent me down this rabbit hole)
Netflix
Peacock
Hulu
Disney+
Vudu
Hbo max

Paramount is the most annoying one as it's listing of Dolby Vision supported devices is just "Android TV" then under supported Android TV Devices they only list "Nvidia Shield" and "Select Xiaomi devices".
Is a shield my only option? Does it work with a chromecast w/ google tv?

My mecool km9 box has no sound when using the HBO max app, all other apps do have sound eg: netflix and prime.

I have tried changing sound settings, logging out and in, reinstalling HBO but no joy.

I have Android 9 on Sony Bravia (4K HDR).

When I watch movies on Netflix or Prime, i constantly have to adjust volume.

Am I missing any Volume Normalization setting on TV, or any other app available.

I was trying to quit a app but it send me back to "TV" app or random apps that running in background. I did turn off "Energy Optimization" of launcher (Emotn UI that i use) but didn't work to stay in background.

Netflix use to show 4 tiles on the home screen. Then a few months ago it decreased to 2 tiles. And a few days ago it decreased to 1 tile. Has this been the case for everyone else?

Can anybody explain to me if my Android TV Box is Chromecast compatible? I have not been able to connect a remote control app to it, nor use it with Google Home or YouTube to cast a video. Also, it doesn't show the enable/disable Chromecast option in the settings menu. I have tried downloading and installing the Chromecast built-in app from Aptoide TV but it's still not working. Is there a software workaround or is it a hardware issue? Any help would be much appreciated.

Edit: SOLVED Solution: at the sugestion of u/vartemir, changed chroma subsampling. From YCbCr420 to YCbCr444.

It's happening only on this one Phillips monitor.

Just bought android tv streaming box and every couple of seconds this funky glitch happens. Box doesn't restart- as soon as monitor recovers, setup process is there.

Something from hdmi signal gets this tick, a seizure and picture's back for another couple of seconds.

I tried different cable but problem is still there.

Ports work.

I'm afraid to tinker a bit longer with it connected to my monitor to not damage it.

Again, its only this one monitor that has a problem with it.

Anyone experienced this? What could it be?

So long story short I live with my roommate who has a annoying habit to watch tv till 5am!!yea 5am!!. So I wana know is there a way to make the damn TV stop working like I don't even want it to start... And I'm not a hacker I just want some good sleep.

I just got a Philips 55PUS7406/12 with Android TV 10. Unfortunately, it doesn't want to talk to my Harmony Elite hub remote, so I'm trying to find a way to control it through my iPhone. Unfortunately, the Android Remote app for iOS isn't finding my TV, Philips's own remote app isn't finding my TV, a universal remote control app I saw recommended isn't finding my TV, and Google Home finds my TV but doesn't control it at all.

I saw a recommendation to downgrade the Android TV remote handling application on the TV to version 4.7 or something like that, but unfortunately, I can only downgrade as far as version 5.0 (I think).

Alternatively, are there any decent universal remotes available in Europe that can control both a 2021-vintage Philips Android TV and an Xbox One?

ETA: found that a One-For-All Evolve seems to do the trick for a universal remote, and still hunting for app-based solutions. Thanks for the advice.

I am having a TCL Android tv, and I am using the onn 4k box because the embedded Android tv module is very outdated. Unfortunately I can't program the power button (or any IR button). Tried different brands in the settings(TCL Roku etc) but none worked. My tv has a IR receiver because I have trained and I use my generic Bose sound at remote with it. Is there a way to train the onn 4k remote by copying the signal from another remote? Thanks a lot!

I wondered about running an actual podcast app on my Android TV. I went to Google Play Store and found that it knows about my fave app, Podcast Addict, but said it was ineligible to install on my TV.

Web searches found almost nothing regarding using a general purpose podcast app on Android TV.

• Any suggestions for a decent podcast app for Android TV?
• Should I ignore the built-in Android TV OS and use a Roku or Firestick, etc, for the podcast app?
• Any pointer to where I can learn more about handling podcasts smoothly on Android TV? Or perhaps that this is basically hard to do?

So me watching Netflix gets distributed by a sudden popup (White background, blue circle loading) that can only go away if I click the home button a few times. It's really annoying can someone please help me out because it is happening like once every 15 min

I got a TCL 6-series TV in the fall, which has Google TV built in. I use the built in apps, including Disney+. For Disney+, and only Disney+ as far as I can tell, the picture settings are locked at different forms of "Dolby Vision", which all seem to use picture smoothing and 60fps. It doesn't state that (it doesn't state anything about what the setting means), but that's how it looks, and I think it looks like crap. I hate the soap-opera effect, and there's a very bad ghosting-type thing that happens with fast movement.

I can't find any Disney+ or TV settings menu that lets me change this. Is there anything I'm missing, or am I stuck with this forever?
