So I researched different standalone Android boxes. I have a question about this ecosystem in general.

I have for many years now used a Chromecast 3rd gen and I have used whatever app I had on my phone or tablet and casted it to my Chromecast, thereby only using one device at once.

Now I only get the option to cast to my new TV when I use YouTube. In other apps the casting button only shows my old chromecast that I still have connected to my old TV.

Will I get back full casting options when I switch to the Realme stick 4K or do I have to consider changing the way I consume content?

I'm using a andorid tv and I download not very popular app (it's some kind of streaming app) when I open it it's run clean and everything look great, but when I hit play on some media the video it self look zoom in and it doesn't fit my screen So I was wondering if someone has an idea how can I change the app setting for video screen size?

Hey all, so I've been having an issue with the Netflix app on my Sony XE9005 TV (running android 9.0).
It's getting to the point where I have to hard reset the TV each time I try to run the app as all I get is a black screen. Restarting the TV (holding the power button) fixes this but it's annoying to have to do it each time. None of my other apps have this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated!

So i have multiple Android TV devices.

A couple of Nvidia shield pro a MiTV stick and a sonY TV at home and i Carry a MiTV stick with me on my days out.

The problem is that I am lazy, but I keep changing a lot of minor settings/trying new apps on the go. I wanted all the android TV to look and feel the same. Between 5 devices it gets verry difficult to customize all of them to the same look and feel. Is there a simple way except the conventional "Just see one and set the other"?

How can I get firefox browser version for tv on Android tv

I just got a used Sony KD55 X7055 for a really good deal. it starts and runs fine, I know it's not a top of the line TV but to me it's amazing.

It does however run a very basic version of Android TV, apps are lacking, some are too old to work. I have already planned ahead and ordered a Realme 4K stick to handle all of my smart TV duties. But until it arrives I can only seem to cast from an external device such as my phone using YouTube exclusively. Google home isn't able to connect with it, and in apps such as Netflix or HBO Max no device is even showing as available.

The headphone jack on the tv fell into the tv, it took the circuit board surface mounts with it so can't resolder. The TV is stuck in headphone mode, does anyone know how to override the output software wise, there's no options to change output in the menu or developer options.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Synology 220j, that stores my photos. I am trying to view them on my Chromecast with Google tv. I cannot believe this has been so difficult!

There is no DLNA client that I can find on Google tv. I don't want to install plex because it is really too complicated for my needs. I just want to watch photos. I am coming from Roku, which has a media player. It has its own problems, but it is functional.

Synology recommends synology photos. I upgraded to DS 7.0 and installed it. Now it turns out there is no Synology photos app on Google tv!

Does anybody here have any recommendations?

Recently acquired a few kingpin TV boxes for free. They’re the 4k version. Can’t find much info online besides the fact that the company went out of business and they aren’t supported any more. Was thinking about flashing them with some different OS version but can’t find any info about them anywhere, let alone a users guide. Any of you guys know anything about them or how to install a different OS?

To clarify, I'm not talking about the talkback accessibility feature. I mean when the assistant annoyingly TELLS you what it's doing as opposed to just doing it (e.g. "Opening: Hulu").

Like, I'm looking at a giant screen and just said the name of an app. I don't need you to TELL me (in an obnoxiously loud voice, btw) you're opening the app, just f*cking open it

I have a Xiaomi Mi Android Tv and it consumes about 6gb of 4g in a few hours (4 hours) of watching TV. For me it isn't possible to work without 4g. Now I have read a lot and saw that the data saver option isn't possible anymore to activate. I don't know if I can trust APKMirror to install the app. The tv box keeps sometimes lagging after some time for like 5 seconds. Any suggestions to limit the huge data consumption and how I can avoid the lagging?

Hi all, I do have a Xiaomi MiBox S with Android TV v. 9, and since a year now, occasionally Google TV UI goes on, usually when the device is resting and it stays that way several minutes or hours, sometimes even after restart has Google TV UI and then unexpectedly it returns in the old Android TV UI for months. Is there a way how to enable the new Google TV UI? I'm in Balkans region and the last time this change happened I had a VPN, though not sure if it was active when the change of UI happened. In any case, I restarted the device without turning on the VPN and the new UI was still on.

Is there a way how to set Google TV UI as default Android TV Launcher?

I am trying to copy a download link from the browser and paste it in another application, though this is done by right clicking on windows or by holding your finger on the link on android phones, I don't seem to be able to figure out a way to do it on an Android TV. Basically I can not get the option for copying by holding on the link in the browser, but holding works on other applications like MXPlayer as intended. I am using a mouse. Please let me know if you have a found a way to do so.

Just for clearance the link is not simply a text, think of it as a button that directs you to the link you want, something like reddit logo that you would press to go to the main page for example.

I'm looking to pick up a couple new tvs, and the one I had my eye on comes packed with Android. I've used Roku for years, so I'm not familiar with Android's tv OS or what's capable on it, so I'm hoping someone will be kind enough to answer my silly questions.

The streaming services available for Android TV, are they limited to the specific select handful that are listed under "apps for android tv" or can you install any streaming app that's available on Google Play? And if the latter, do they actually work well out of the box, or is there a fair bit of fiddling and potential "Well that doesn't work quite right" scenarios due to being an "unsupported" device?

I installed LineageOS 18.1 on the Walmart Onn Box, but it doesn't show up when I try to Chromecast to it. Do I need to install something to get Chromecast to work?

Hi folks, on MECOOL KM2, whenever i restart the system the resolution goes to 1080p 59Hz.

I want it to stay at 4k 50Hz Resolution...

Any fix for that?
