Onn UHD/4K Box: HDMI-CEC stopped working after the latest 4/08/2022 update for me. Can Anybody confirm?

I notice that HDMI-CEC functionality is broken when connected to my Samsung HDTV. My Samsung remote which used to work stopped working when I used it today for the first time since the update. I've been troubleshooting it today with everything I can think of short of doing a full reset but I really think it's a bug in the latest update. Edit: I did a factory reset and HDMI-CEC still doesn't work so its definitely a bug.

Has anybody else seen the same behavior? It's not a huge deal since I have the original remote but it should be fixed since it's a basic feature and I like using my beater SamsungTV remote instead of the Onn remote.

EDIT: Another user says his Sony TV works fine but another Samsung user confirms his HDMI-CEC doesn't work, either. Samsung users should stay away from this update if they depend on HDMI-CEC functionality.

I can confirm my onn 4k is working fine with cec enable with a Sony tv i can control it with the tv remote

I can confirm with my Samsung TV that it is broken using the Samsung TV remote. Works fine using the ONN remote. Also I have noticed that the HDR setting is also broken in this latest update. I set HDR to off in the ONN settings and HDR is still on. If I change it to automatic then HDR goes off. I've had other issues with this latest update too.

Any updates on a fix? I have the update in que but am holding off installing it. I also have a Samsung TV.

Have the same issue. immediately after the update. Hisence TV connected by fiber optical to my soundbar. No control of volume (even thought the volume tab moves up and down on the screen) . Except for the youtube app. That works perfectly. Netflex , xfinity doesnt work at all. Love to know a was to revert back to the old update.

Summary:

Volume control from Onn remote brings up cec bar on TV . Has no effect on volume of my sound bar connected digitally for every app but Youtube which works fine.

This sucks

I have the update pending. as I too have a Samsung TV, I am hesitant to install the update. Does anyone know if there is a fix yet?
