Any way to make this app the default one on Sony Bravia TV instead of YouTube?

Other than disabling the YT app, I can't get SmartTube to become the default app. When I select a YouTube video right from the Google TV features, it wants to select the YT app only, even though it's disabled.

Any thoughts?

Just started update to latest software and my Philips is stuck for about 2 hours at 12%. Does anyone have any idea or got a similar issue? I've done some software updates in the past and I don't remember it taking this long or not going past a point after a long time

Update. I have searched everywhere and couldn't find anything about this problem but it works out so I'll post an update in case anyone finds themselves in my situation and don't know what to do I left the tv freezes at 12% overnight in hopes that it will finish what it has to do by morning. That was not the case wake up and it was still at 12%. I try to turn it off by the remote control but didn't work so I unplugged it, left it like that for 5 minutes then plugged it back in. For my surprize the tv turned on everything ok so I tried again, from it's menu download the system update again and I'm glad this time everything went ok.

Is it not possible to dump the apk from the firestick to run on my shield? I'm guessing this must have been tried as surely it can't be that simple? :|

Is there a way for me to know which ARM version my TV box is using? I've read the specs that it uses an Amlogic S905X4 Quad-core ARM Cortex-A55, however, nor the Mecool website nor the ARM wesite specify if this chip is 32 or 64 bits architecture. Can somebody tell me which architecture is being used for certain? Thanks in advance.

I am trying to decide if I should get Ccast with GTV or Roku stick 4K+. Only deal breaker of Ccast is very low storage it provides that I think I won't be freely decide which apps I want to use. Considering there are thousands of them, 8gb is really low. What do you think?

Guys, When I watch tv, Netflix or other vod streaming, all works fine. But when I use for example any radio FM app, screensaver launches after few minutes and app turns off. Why does tv not recognize some apps as running apps and turn into idle mode? How to fix this?

I like how Puffin TV handles pop ups, it opens a confirmation if you want to be redirected or not instead of taking you instantly to another site/app.

But Puffin isn't free.

I've tried multiple browsers already and I can't find one with the same functionality. Can you suggest any?

Sometimes after the night, I can't turn on the Mi Box at all. Found a few Reddit posts from like a year or more ago but there wasn't really a fix other than a factory reset.

For confirmation, this is talking about the live-TV service YouTube TV, not the built in YouTube app. Apps such as SmartTubeNext and such are only for YouTube, and not YouTube TV.

I recently subscribed to YouTube TV. On my desktop, I'm able to use uBlock Origin in Chrome to watch shows without any ads at all. Great!

For my Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 though, there's ads while using the YouTube TV app. Is there any app/DNS/other method for avoiding ads whatso ever? I tried Windscribe VPN and its "built in ad blocker via R.O.B.E.R.T" on the desktop, but it didn't manage to block the ads. Furthermore, using the Windscribe app on the Shield Pro 2019 generates a "this content isn't available in your country" playback error (as YouTube TV seems to detect a VPN and blocks playback of video, even without R.O.B.E.R.T, but strangely enough it seems to work fine on the desktop).

Any tips or suggestions?

The feature stopped working a few months back when YouTube was down globally where the left menu didn't appear.

The audio codec was working only for purchased TV shows and movies but I just noticed it is working again on the whole site.
