Oh boy, depends on how bad you want it. This is what I do with my in-laws, who are pretty helpless: I use teamviewer to log onto their device so I can see what I'm doing. (can't control it, though, right? That's what you mean by not working?) Then on another device I use teamviewer to log on to one of their tablets that has a remote app that CAN control the android TV device. So two remote connections to the same household. It is laggy and all that, but beats getting in the car and going over there just to do a restart. Which they can't do on their own.
