My router and NAS box, as well as all ethernet cabling are all support gigabit ethernet - my Sony Android TV has 100mbps ethernet port connectivity tops. Is there a USB/Ethernet adapter that people have found works with my brand/ model TV?

The USB port on your TV must be 3.0 in order to achieve gigabit speeds. Is it ? ( Blue color )
Both Amazon and Walmart had one that works for me on my Sony X 91 J. Search for USB 3 ethernet adapter make sure the ethernet port on your extender if you are using one is 1 GB capable many are only 100 MB.
For my TCL 50C725 with Android TV I bought TP-Link UE300, which is USB3.0 1Gbps USB Ethernet adapter. It works fine 😉 From what I read on the internet adapter must be Chrome OS compatible to work on any android TV, but I can be wrong - you know 😉 it's not that expensive, buy it and try it 👍🏻
