I would like to display the weather + time by default on my Hisense 4k android tv, as a screensaver.

Right now it only displays the time.

Like the title says, im used to play games on my laptop, so can i play games using a wireless keyboard? I mean android games and streamed games.

Guys could anyone please help me out with supplying the apk for 10 Play app made for Android TV? I don't have access to Google Play Store and the only version I can find elsewhere seems like it's for mobile devices. I currently have it installed and running on a firestick TV 4k and the version is 4.0.18 (201430). I no longer have the apk and I want to install it on a new firestick.

I'm thinking about buying a Mi Box S as an update from the Chromecast.

The thing is, the Chromecast connects perfectly with the Google Nest, I can voice-command it to open some Netflix show, play a song or just turn it on/off.

Is it possible to do the same with the Mi Box S? Does it have the same level of connectivity?

What model did you use to connect a harmony hub to a Mi box?

So I have the box checked to allow external players but it never asks me what I want to use when I play the video, it automatically plays the Plex player. Some movies/shows I want to see are h.265 which mxplayer supports and Plex does not so I would like to use it. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been trying to change it to light mode but I don’t see it in the settings.

So I want to play some games on epsxe emulator. I got my one PS4 controller connected to the ATV, but my other one won't. It shows up in the Bluetooth pairing menu and the controller blinks like it should however it does not connect. My android tv box is Xiaomi Mi Box s

Recently I am in China and will stay here for a few months. I am looking for an AndroidTV box, where I can install apps such as ExpressVPN, Netflix, YouTube and DAZN.

I was thinking about the Xiaomi Mi Box, but then saw they have a global and a chinese version. As far as I understand I will run into problems with the chinese version and unfortunately I can't find the global version anywhere (on Aliexpress they are not shipping to Mainland China...lol).

How did you guys from China handle this? Is there any other alternative to the Mi Box, which is actually working fine with Netflix, VPNs etc.?

Does this tv support 5.1 surround through the optical port?

For the last 6 months, I can't remember exactly after which firmware update, but after one of the Android updates, my TV channel changing got a very nasty delay. Sometimes as long as 30 sec.

Sorry for vague info, but I was searching the Google and one of the suggestions was to disable the new "suggestions" Android or Sony added after the major update. Basically on home screen you would get some suggestions and there was no way to disable, unless you went through system and disabled through there. I can't remember how I did it, but I know it didn't help.

I Also tried clearing cash. The only thing I haven't done was a complete system restore. I was about to do it, but some of the Sony support website posts were saying that it doesn't help either.

Basically, after I use the Android Home menu for Netflix, YouTube, etc, then go back to TV (Antenna, I don't have cable), the channel switching gets a horrible 20+ second delay. Sometimes it ends after 5 min and sometimes it doesn't.

After this started happening there were 2 more Android system updates that I hoped will fix the issue, but it never did. Had this TV since 2016 and never had this issue before. Anyone got a clue what to do?

So, i bought the 2019 shield to test out on my 950g, i have the 2017 shield, but honestly i see my self not really using it, the os on the tv is plenty quick for what i need, the upscaling on the 2019 is pretty crazy though, I do notice with the native os i get HDR on youtube and not with my shield. just wondering what other people think. Is it worth keeping? i dont game or anything , just some cinema hd and streaming apps, thanks

I’m not talking about chromecasting apps that support chromecast such as YouTube. I’m seeking to Air Play ie mirror my Apple device on TV via Android TV. Meaning I can screen cast any app to the screen wirelessly, even if it doesn’t support chrome cast. I have an NVIDIA Shield TV Pro.

Audio continues to play while the video briefly freezes and continues. It does this indefinitely every 3-5 seconds it seems and makes Hulu unusable on here.

I know it is not a real Android TV but information is scarce on this platform so I'm taking a chance here. I have the 40PFT5883 and I want atleast some apps to run it to fully maximize the TV even with its obvious limitations,as it will be mostly used as a dumb TV anyway so replacing it with a real Android TV is not an option.

I've tried running Youtube with the help of an app from its app store and so far it is working ok. I also have Netflix but it seems like not running at 1080p, I tried different versions, the newer ones are not compatible. Is the issue with low resolution on Netflix an app issue? I'm still looking for a Karaoke app that would work, its funny that the one from its own app store doesn't work.

And one more thing, is the OS still new? It has so few apps on its store. Will it be update atleast to improve performance and functionality? Screen cast doesn't work properly and it crashes alot.

Anyone else had this issue? After updating my my Mi Box S to Android 9 beta 3 the Chromecast backdrop will not respond to any changes I make to it in the Google Home app. It won’t show the weather or show fine artwork, for example. Casting seems to work though.

I swear I read a post a while back with instructions on setting up the Nvidia Shield with an app that would let you run multiple apps at the same time. I’ve searched and cannot find it.

Example: You could watch YouTube TV in one window then have TinyCam Pro in a smaller window to view a baby monitor simultaneously.

Anyone have any ideas on what this may have been?

I have the MiBox, and mirroring video content...well it just doesn't work well enough. The sound coming out of my Macbook is playing well, well before the video being displayed on the TV. Do things like the Apple TV or others work better for this, or is the input lag pretty standard across the board?

I've been using Nova Launcher and Button Mapper for years and it comes with one handy feature which is Activity launcher. I am able to create shortcuts to any hidden app/settings and sometimes I can even make shortcut within app depending on which activities that app has.

Does anyone knows is it possible to create custom shortcut activities on Android 9 and Android TV 9?

Let's make few examples if you don't understand what I mean: Shortcut that directly opens YouTube subscriptions/watch later, Shortcut that directly opens HBO GO favorites, Shortcut that directly opens "Downloads" in any file manager etc.

Some apps already have those activities and it's pretty cool to make shortcuts with them on my Android TV Box remote control, while some apps don't have those activities at all except main one.

There is one more example, I use one app called EON TV and in order to go to "Favorites" I need to click over 8 times through UI to see Favorites list. Can I just somehow make custom activity that leads to favorites and map it with Button Mapper on my remote?

I found few bugs in Android TV that are bothering me since I use Android TV but all I know is that there is Android forum where I always get some stupid generic answers from guy that works for Google Android forum as Support there.

How to actually contact Android TV Support/Developers to send Feedback/Screenshots/Suggestions for new features/problems/bugs...?

Or that is not possible because apparently it's classified who is working on Android TV OS and we only can prey for them to fix something in Android TV 10?

Hi, I have a Philips Ambilight TV, one of the newer models from 2019 ('The One') and a Oneplus7. Sometimes the cast icon won't be there or will be but the TV won't show up. However the 'real' Chromecast that's in bedroom never fails to show, neither does my router-based Chromecast.

Is there something worth doing that can change that? Thanks in advance!
