I apologise if this is a bad question but I’ve never owned any smart tv or smart tv kits; is it possible to connect a USB with movies loaded onto it into the Xiaomi mi tv box and watch them off it?

With the update of Mi Box S to Android 9, it broke Chromecasting & Hulu constantly freezes no matter what I try to do. I fixed Chromecast by just resetting the box but I'm limited to only casting Hulu to the device not streaming it natively because it simply refuses to not stutter. Anyone have any insight or fixes?

I'm having a strange issue when trying to pair an Xbox One controller to my Bravia Android TV. I've successfully paired the controller to the TV, but the Xbox button on the controller constantly flashes and no inputs register on the TV.

Any ideas?

So when I'm not at home, I want to be able to send links (via my Android phone for example) which will automatically start downloading? And will be ready to watch on my Shield when I get home. Not unlike RSS feed functionality but with the ability to send obviously. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi I’m trying to install YT Kids app on Mi Box 3 , but the thing is my country is not supported !

I have tried the following with no luck : 1- play store : app installed- doesn’t work 2- apk for Android TV : doesn’t install , 3- apk for Android : install and open , but app doesn’t show in drawer or favorites!

Edit : I don’t think it’s a location restriction because I was able to get it installed and working on an iPad with a US account !

Hello, i used to have a mi box s connected to a dumb tv but after a lightning strike destroyed my tv and mi box i ordered a tv with android tv built-in. The tv is the sony xg950 and i was wondering if it will do the same stuff i need from it (kodi, fire anime and unlockmyttv) or should i buy a new mi box?

Apps installed on my flash disk disappear from favourites every time I power off the TV. It's so irritating to keep adding them each time only for them to be removed with every restart.

This happens even when I switch it off via remote overnight and turn it on in the morning.

I live in a 3rd world country - 🇰🇪 which experiences power disruptions so I prefer to switch it off at the socket when I'm not in.

Any way to stop this from happening? TV is Sony X950G

AFTER you had already paired/registered the headphones with the TV:

• power ON the headphones (L ear)
• then press down the PLAY button (R ear). There is a FF, Play, Previous control on the R ear.

Yes it's that easy but Sony doesn't publish this for these headphones for some reason. Maybe they're included with other headphone models but this is my first set and I was scratching my head as to why is this always such a painful process. The way I USED to connect was getting into the TV Settings/Remotes & Accessories/Bluetooth/click on the registered headphones model/Connect and boom it worked.

I read this somewhere else on Reddit but couldn't find that post to confirm.

Does anyone have a good solution for watching the US QVC live feed on an Nvidia Shield? The QVC app isn't compatible with the Shield, maybe AndroidTV in general? I downloaded Freeview IPTV but it only has the UK QVC feed in it. There's a YouTube live stream, but having to dig around for that within the YouTube app every time you want to watch it obviously isn't the best situation.

Is there a way to make a YouTube live stream a "channel," or some way to pull in a US QVC stream to some other app?

Where can I find a list like this? In other post I was told many devices are not AndroidTV because they are not under Google license or approved. In the web site it only appears TV's.

So my Bravia auto-updated to version 9 and I wanted to reinstall Netflix 5.4.1 because that version works with NordVPN. On version 8, I used to APK Editor Pro to simply change the package name (because Netflix can only be disabled on the Bravia) of the Netflix 5.4.1 and it installed fine, however; on version 9 no matter how much I change the package name and how I do so (I’ve used APKTool to change the package name as well) the package installer always results in the error message “App not installed.” when I click install. I’ve changed the app name, the sdk versions, app name, and the installation location and nothing has worked. I have no idea why it won’t install and how the OS knows that I’m trying to install another version of Netflix. If anyone had any advice I would appreciate it A LOT! Thank you so much in advanced for any feedback.

An android box running stock android tv, with 4K, HDR, half decent memory (2 or 3 gigs), half decent cpu, with the usual codecs (h264, h265, dolbi surround and so on), Netflix, two usb 3.0 ports and one Ethernet port....

Ffs give me a mi box with an Ethernet port and two usb 3.0 ports... I’ll pay extra!!! :( (cries while trying to stream 4K in plex with bit rate bumps nearing the 400mbps and 5ghz WiFi is struggling :( )

Okay, this is kind of hard to explain so stay with me. Is anyone else having the issue where the MiBox would silence certain sounds in movies or shows? Like if they aren’t above a certain level of dB they just end up being completely silenced. It’s really annoying when watching a movie for example, and there is a quiet scene happening. You can see them whispering but you can’t hear anything. If there is a fix for this, please let me know!

Hi, I have an amp connected to the mibox analog output, that I usually keep on even when the mibox is turned off. It wasn't an issue until I upgraded to 9, and now when I turn the mibox off, I hear strong "tick" sounds from my speakers every few seconds or so.

This is really annoying. Did someone else get that? Is it at all possible to roll back to Android 8? Thanks

Hi! I’m using MiBox s but I lent it to my mother 😌 my tv is samsung series 6 49 inches - Can I install Android TV on it in some way? this is smart tv - it works probably on tizen os. Its veryyyyy buggy and I don’t like this system. Is is possible to run any other system? Or upgrade this os to newer version?

If you have an AirTV mini (which is awesome by the way, I love mine) , but you're not in the sling ecosystem, you just need to run two adb commands

pm disable-user --user 0 com.sling.airtvmini
(To disable and hide the app)

pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.leanbacklauncher.partnercustomizer
(To stop the system from trying to launch sling automatically at boot. You have to do this if you do the first one, because otherwise you'll hang at boot)

This also removes the sling logos and splash screens and basically turns your device into a non-specific ADT device.
