Making predictions about technology 5-10 years in the future, and posting them on YouTube to be referenced when the time comes, is a bold move.
I just saw an 8k tv in Best Buy but I'm going to hold out until they can just beam the image straight into my brain.
While it's maybe true that 1080p is good enough if you watch it with BluRay. It's not really enough on streaming. It's all about bitrate. Streaming service tends to compress the video as much as they can. As a result, many "1080p" streaming bitrate isn't really close to 1080p on bluray.
So you will need 4K streaming even it has to be downscaled to 1080p to fit a 1080 TV. 4K streaming simply provide better bitrate. The bad thing is most movie streaming service I've ever try didn't provide this kind of selection. You gotta have 4K TV or you don't get 4K streaming at all...
This video is not founded in reality. The title isnt addressed, as far as I can tell. Tv sales are not a curve, not a line. Gaming in 4k is waiting on either better hardware to get cheaper or software to optimize playback.
