I have a general android box (x96 mini). On any other device like Android tv, i can install and run the app. On this particular box it doesn't seem optimised. Can anyone help me find a suitable version?

EDIT: FIXED I believe that the issue was that I downloaded the game first when there was not space. THEN added the USB storage (should have done that on day one). So some cache somewhere kept looping telling me there was no room (when there was). I am not sure which data clearing helped specifically, but I cleared the data & cache for google play store, google play games, and google play services all at once and it seemed to work. I think Services was the one I was forgetting...

Trying to download a game. Thimbleweed Park. When I hit install it says insufficient storage and cannot install.

I have a 128gb USB drive converted to internal storage and permanently inserted and my internal storage reads 117gb free. The TV itself also says it has 7gb free.

Two questions. 1. Do game downloads go on the USB drive once I make it internal storage automatically? Do I need to worry about that? It seems like the TV sees everything as internal storage now.

2. Are there any known issues with games not downloading for insufficient storage when there is a lot of storage? I have cleared the data and cache for play store and play games. Could this game be that massive? I really want to give the game a try.

I recently bought a TCL 55EC788 it's working quite well but when you want to watch live TV it uses the TV Guide app from Freeview Play. When you scroll in any direction you have about 15 Seconds before it jumps back to the channel you're currently on.

I'm wondering what I can do, I'm thinking at the moment -

1. Try and install YouView and see if that app works, if there is a way to side load it.

2. Use my HDHomerun and use that app or Live Channels from Google. The reason why I'm not sure about this one is I have a HDHomerun for my Plex server and it always seemed a bit slow for live TV through Plex.

Just wondering if anyone can help or has had this issue too. I'm going to ring TCL to see what they say too.

I'm from the UK and I want to use HBO without any vpn hassle. I don't want to keep switching my vpn on and off everytime I want to use it

What I mean is if I use an US vpn the other apps will be affected, amazon and streamio stop streaming and youtube and netflix stream slow.

I know split tunneling exist but is not reliable I still have the issues mentioned, I've tried protonvpn, openvpn and a myriad of trial vpn's

Any easy way to use HBO abroad like a regular app? Or a script that turns vpn connection on and when not in use switch vpn off?

Im haveing a hard time finding information on both the possiblity and performance of usb playback from android tv boxes (preferably budget/med range price) to TV (NO WIFI!).

So I have a bunch of usb sticks (terrabytes) and I want to watch a load of movies without the annoying streaming buffering that plex gives over wifi. Can android tv boxes deliver? If so what price range?

Im mainly interested in x264 content, but also blueray and dvd5. Must playback the movie near flawless in 1080p.

It really can't be connected to my ATV Box? I am using Nvidia GeForce NOW on my PC because GeForce NOW for Android TV was terrible, I just updated it and it works flawlessly! No more delays, bitrate drops etc.

Hi. I've sideloaded an app (SkyGo NZ) onto my MiBox S but the app displays incorrectly ie, it's sideways. On a tablet you'd rotate the screen and it would be as it should display. Is this something that can be corrected somehow? Has anyone had any luck with the SkyGO NZ app?

When i try to watch any video on Youtube app, it freezes after a few seconds and stay. When i try it on chrome or newpipe, it always stops and buffers after a few minutes playing takes a while to come back. The youtube app was up to date when i checked.

I have a Sony W805C and connected a device sending a 576p 4:3 signal. The TV doesn't show a proper 4:3 aspect ratio though.

The aspect ratio options I can choose from are smart, normal, full, zoom. Normal should be 4:3 but it is stretched. Is there a way to force proper 4:3 on a Android TV?

Not sure if it matter but I'm using the 2019 Shield remote and i just love the control through TY TV. Center button press at anytime pauses/plays. left and right rewind and fast forward 15 seconds.

It just feels more natural and any other app feels janky. Am I alone?

I recently picked up a Xiaomi Mi Box S to use as a replacement to the Roku I was using previously as I could hook it up to the internet via ethernet. Today I tried pairing my DualShock4 controller to the Mi Box to try out rainway as an alternative to my steam link, unfortunately it seems bluetooth is really screwed on the Mi Box so I'm looking for an alternative.

I'm not bothered about any super fancy expensive boxes. All I want is one that supports netflix @ 1080p or greater, has ethernet support (even if via a USB adapter) and supports the DualShock 4 under £75.
