I wish all apps would just adapt YouTube TV remote Controls

by CenterInYou

Not sure if it matter but I'm using the 2019 Shield remote and i just love the control through TY TV. Center button press at anytime pauses/plays. left and right rewind and fast forward 15 seconds.

It just feels more natural and any other app feels janky. Am I alone?

This! Not every androidtv box comes with media control button. Like they (google, hardware vendors and developers) never take into account our muscle memory. Any way we can make developer here this? Its confusing when jumping between apps netflix and youtube (not yttv) for instance.

I love the idea -- Disney+, Netflix, Kodi, Youtube (& many others) all have slightly different control methods none them perfect, but it would be great if there was some consistency across the platform -- Disney I would say has the edge of most apps I've used, in terms of controls and options, (albeit with a rotten home screen). If they want to offer, options, that could perhaps be a System Settings function (eg. when your control lacks a scroll or directional buttons), but all Android TV apps should be able work the same whether with a remote, an airmouse, or touchscreen. Come on Google GYST!

Not it's a good interface. I just wish I could turn on close captioning by default for all videos instead of having it to turn on for each video.

Edit: looks like there is way to turn it on by default.

Seriously? I hate using YouTube after Netflix.
