While some spec sheets have listed the JetStream as running Android 9, it's never been actually available for me. This morning the update was available. I'm not sure what exactly is new for Android TV but at least this finally puts the device on par with the Mi Box S.

Edit: YouTube 4K HDR works, but I have no idea if that was already the case in Android 8.

Went through the trouble of installing and activating the Amazon Alexa app on my Sony A8G. Seemed to work great, but then the TV started turning itself on at random hours of the day—and night.

Now, I’m not very superstitious, but it’s pretty creepy to wake up at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning to voices in the living room. Took a while for me to attribute it to the Alexa app.

I thought it might be my Amazon Echo, so I disconnected it. But that didn’t fix it. The TV kept turning on about twice a day. Then I thought it might have something to do with the Do Not Disturb settings. So, I turned those off. No luck. Next, I disconnected it through the app on my phone.

The TV kept turning on.

Finally, I disabled —and deleted —the Amazon Alexa app on my Android TV. That was the only thing that fixed it.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Suddenly Pluto TV Guide is showing wrong info on default app and live channels app. Anyone else have this? it says something is on, but it's not the correct program. Phone app works perfect. Why can't the Android TV app work good? ☹️

Hi everyone, I've got 2 TCL p8m TV's. One is 43" and another is 65"

The larger TV has already updated automatically to android 9 but the smaller one remains at android 8.

Even if I try to do network update on the smaller TV, it shows as latest version..is there an update file anywhere so I can just do a local update?

Sideloaded a video conferencing app and have been trying to get this camera/mic to work.

Mi box upgraded to latest ver.

All USB 2.0 products.

Used the following devices I'm various states, nothing.

USB Cam with mic USB mic Bluetooth speaker/mic Usb speaker/mic

Got the Bluetooth speaker/mic to work for about 30 seconds with the USB Cam/mic but that was it.

Thoughts?

primarily for streaming, don't care for gaming. would an Nvidia Shield Pro be overkill? could Mi Box S handle skins like Arctic Horizon/Arctic Zypher 2/AuraMod in Kodi well enough?

Now that profiles are rolling out globally for Prime Video I have been checking daily to see if this is on the Prime app on my Android TV. I have it on fire stick and Roku already. Anyone with Prime see the option for profiles on their AndroidTV yet?

It just keeps telling me incorrect username or password. Google is signing me in using Smartlock. I just tested on another Shield and it signed me in just fine. I tried manually signing in and that doesn't work either. It's a Nest account, not Google, but it's working fine on two other Shields.

Any ideas?

Hi, I received a second hand Android TV box. It has a model number TVB-100 which we receive from our ISP with their branding (Telkom LIT_ Box)

When I try to connect through HDMI it doesn't pick up on my TV. I'm awaiting an AV cable to try but is there anything I can do to troubleshoot it for now? I can't seem to find the Reset button either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, like I said in the title, "Screen off" that was in power button menu disappeared after lastest update (it was 1.1GB-ish). I used it a lot to listen to music and now its gone. Is it hidden somewhere or Xiaomi removed it on pourpose?

Last summer i set about updating my parents TV while home from school for a few months, since we have google homes galore in the house i naturally picked up an official Android TV OS box (Cant member the model rn) and within days realized that from a UK perspective it lacked any UK catch up channels and the like. (We get our live TV via plex however which was the only working thing in the end...)

So i ended up just buying a new Fire TV Stick and giving up, given that justifying a Sheild TV and its cost to my technically inept parents was a no go.

So i wanted to ask if anyone from the UK could tell me on the situation with catchup UK TV in 2020, i couldn't find much in the way of news on the interwebs but i dont imagine a new tv app would make headlines anyway. If there has been some new developments id be going for a Mi Box S

Hello, Are there any Self-powered USB audio adapters with S/PDIF Coaxial output and supported by Android TV 9.0? I am aware of some with Optical and analog RCA, but i need S/PDIF Coaxial output.

I have the KDL550C Bravia Android TV (pretty old! I know !) and got AT&T Fiber 1 gig internet ... now everyone keeps saying that go wired with your smart tv for better performance but in my case, I get hardly 100mbps download. What's the deal with that.. haven't tried Wifi but I am sure it will be better than this.. if this crapy network adapter on the Bravia is limiting the Wifi Speed then what's the point of going wired over wifi?

Yesterday, Hulu app started acting up & it was stuck in the loading screen for minutes. I decided to uninstall & re-install the app. After uninstalling, I realized the app was no longer available in Play store. Is anyone else facing this issue?
