Hi there,
I have a Nvidia Shield TV with Kodi installed on it and I have a Samsung SE-208DB which supports the AV Connectivity.
I've read many threads about that topic and the only way to legaly watch real DVDs with an external drive requires the drive to have the AV mode. So I have one here.
Now my problem is, that if I activate the AV mode and insert a DVD disk, then the Shield tells me that there is a device detected and it even recognizes the name of the disk. But no more. If you go into the storage settings, you find the drive as removable device and it tells you (after initializing the disk) that the disk was ejected successfully. I'm not able to access the content because of that. Everytime it tells me that it was ejected despite the drive is still closed with the disk in it
Here is a photo with the disk of \"Matrix\":
My Shield TV has the latest Android TV Version and is up to date.
And no, ripping the DVD is not an option because of legal issues.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I really want to make my Shield TV capable to play physical DVD disks without having a big ass DVD Player next to my TV...

In fact, right now you can score TCL's 55-inch 4K Smart Android TV (Series 4) on sale at Best Buy for just $199.99.
Today's deal saves you $200 and is just one of Best Buy's many early Black Friday deals. Since this TV is a Best Buy-exclusive, you won't find it or this discount available anywhere else. Best Buy offers free shipping with its purchase."
