Anyone have luck moving files with the new Chromecast Google TV? I keep getting permission errors and can't edit / delete files on the new hardware. I have no issue doing so on my nvidia shield

Edit:. I got one to work, and user profiles work, but the streaming quality is g a r b a g e!

It's set to best quality, I have ethernet from the router right in my room, and I tried downloading instead of streaming and it's still like 480p.

Anyone know of a setting a can tweak or something?

My Hisense comes with Prime Video built in and it doesn't have profile support even when updated to most current version

I share an account with 3 people so it's very hindering not to have the profiles so I don't mess up their watchlist or have mine messed up

I've tried disabling the Prime Video app that came with it and loading another version but that didn't work, and I can't successfully get Amazon App Store to work

Has anyone gotten this to work? Maybe there's something I'm missing?

It disconnected today no apparent reason, now it's got a constantly lit white led and won't pair, any ideas? Factory reset doesnt seem to work.

Honestly this is driving me nuts.

BBC iplayer on the pc works perfectly with router based smart DNS. Works perfectly on ios and Android as well. No problems. Static routes of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 has been added.

Still, the Sony Android TV blocks me from casting or starting the app. Am I missing something?

I just got a Google TV yesterday and pretty immediately noticed something that I'm finding really annoying.

When browsing through the consolidated menu with show suggestions/categories/etc, it has suggestions for shows that are on apps I don't have installed (like suggesting GoT when I don't have an HBO app).

Is there any way to get rid of this, or filter it down to just be on apps that are installed on the device? I don't want app only mode because that sort of kills the whole differentiator between Google TV and other platforms like Roku.

Hi everyone, I am happily using the YouTube app on my Android TV device. I have noticed a couple of times now that it is possible to get a list of topics in the Home menu. Things like "memes", "speedruns", "Simpsons", etc. The algorithm is actually pretty good, and my list of topics has been relevant and helpful. But I can't figure out how to make the list appear. I've only done it by accident, and nothing I have tried seems to work. Does anyone know how to activate this feature?

i sideloaded the apk from apkmirror on my chromecast, but how do you bookmark the puffer page on firefox startpage/homescreen? and how do you change websites, seems like i have to back all the way to homepage everytime?

I have my youtube tv signed in through another account on google TV and I have no live tab, anyway to change this or do I have to update it to the main google TV account

Looking for some help. The remote that came with the link bar stopped working. I bought a Shield tv remote (toblerone shaped one) to replace it. Pairing was easy but the power button won't work. I can't figure out a way to get the power button to work so my guess is I have to resort to remapping.

The jbl remote would power on and off my tv (LG C8) via CEC. That's what is like to do with this remote. I am currently trying to use the app button remapper. When I do the only other actions that are similar it either puts the jbl to sleep or bring up the Android power dialog. The app has the ability to write in your own shell command that will run when a specific button is pressed.

Anyone know what command I would need to type in to execute what I'm looking for?

Hello, i have an issue with my Philips OLED 903. When i chromecast a YT video i can not access settings anymore. Only volume and home buttons work the rest of the remote is dead till i stop casting. I already reset the TV 2 weeks ago but not the problem is already back - Even before i managed to get all my old settings back... :(

If anybody has an idea how to fix it that would be great.

For some reason my new Google TV disappears from my casting options (in YouTube / photos etc) and it also stops showing photos on the ambient display.

If I restart it all works for a bit and then reverts.

Any ideas? No issues with other Chromecasts or Google hubs

It was supposed to be incredibly easy. On the 2020 Google Chromecast remote, you could set the YouTube button to any YouTube service by simply pressing and holding the YouTube button. A picker would automatically appear.

I recently got a smart TV, and have ordered the Google TV with chromecast. My smart TV at the moment doesn’t have Android TV but instead has built in YT, Prime and Netflix.

I was wondering if, once I set up Android TV and access YT etc from it as opposed to pressing the designated YT button on the remote, there will be a difference between the built in app versus the Android TV app.

Or will Android TV OS completely take over the smart TV OS and there won’t be an option to load the native YT app anymore? In this case, will pressing home on the remote take me to the Android TV home page as opposed to the built in home page of the TV’s natural OS?
