Playing Gameboy emulator on AndroidTV using android phone as gamepad

  • TV: xiaomi MiTv 4s 55"
  • Phone: OnePlus 5T
  • Emulator: Pizza Boy GBA Pro
  • Gamepad: Bluetooth gamepad app

Basically I transfered the emulator "pizza boy" and "Bluetooth Gamepad" apk to the TV and installed it. Tweaked the emulator a bit to run at max speed and shown in full landscape mode.

I then, as shown in the video, paired the tv and phone in bluetooth so I can transform my phone to a gamepad. Didn't even need to tweak the buttons since the emulator immediately recognized them.

In the youtube video I made, in the description you can find the emulator and bluetooth gamepad app APK.

Hope you like it

That's pretty cool. I picked up a Chromecast with Google TV last week and I was disappointed that I couldn't pair my old PS3 controller to it in order to test Steam Link. It never occurred to me to try to find a bluetooth gamepad app for my phone. Thanks!

Another thing, the game I'm playing is Pokemon Emerald Enhanced.

There's also a good remote app "Cetus Play" remote app that gives you a whole lot of features besides just remote control including using smartphone as gamepad
