Free up storage on your android tv

I spent some time looking for a post like this and it didn't exist on the Google machine, so here we are.

My Hisense android tv kept interrupting me mid-show saying it was running out of space. I had deleted the unused apps, but x-plore helped flush out another 2gigs. Here's what you do:

*Download "x-plore" on your android tv

*Use the "disk map" feature in the middle pane to see where large files are hiding. For me, I had a 1.5 gigs in "trash", and another gig in folders that didn't seem important

*Navigate to said folders and delete in x-plore

When looking at the "internal shared storage" in my android tv settings, I couldn't figure out how to delete the "Misc." Category. The above process was the answer.

Hopefully this helps someone else searching around.

New Sony X750H Android TV doesn't show up on Cast Menu when TV is off

Our brand new Sony X750H 4K Android TV doesn't show up in the list of available Cast devices (for example, attempting to cast something from Netflix) when the TV is off. The TV is just turned off via the power button on the remote, so it's on standby, and it's still plugged into a turned on surge protector. This is a regression from our old Chromecast Ultra and dumb TV, where casting content while the TV was off was available and it would turn the TV on. I'm also unable to turn on the TV from Google Assistant/the Google Home app, like I should be able to do. I am able to turn off the TV from Google Assistant/the Google Home app, however.

Chromecast remote stopped working

The remote of my Chromecast with Google TV stopped working. I restarted the Chromecast but it didn't fix it. I checked the batteries and that didn't work either. Tried unpairing and not I can't figure out how to pair again. I can't put it back into pairing mode and the light on the remote doesn't light up. Any ideas?

Mi Box S, 4k HDR Netflix error

I recently got a new MiBox S for my TV as I got sick of the UI of my tv. My tv is Samsung 4K hdr capable. It also has smart hub. I don't use Netflix in it as my TV doesn't have Bluetooth but Netflix supports full 4K HDR on the TV for supported titles. When I use the MiBox, even though the resolution is set to 4k60 Hz, the Netflix app doesn't show any titles in 4K or even HDR. It just shows HD for all titles. The weird thing is that at rare times, I see 4K and HDR on available titles. It's just very rare. And yes, my Netflix plan is Premium 4K. I used different HDMI cables including the one that came with the box and I plugged it in all 3 ports of the TV, but no luck to be found. Can anyone help me to fix this issue that I'm having?

Google TV on Sony TV guide

Hey everyone, recently been playing around and was able to get a nearly fully working google tv experience on my Sony X900H. This will apply to shield as well.

Follow the instructions from this site: How To Geek

Install the two apks (both are needed), enabled adb, uninstall default launcher.

From this point depending if you have access to the new Google tv app or not (I don't in Canada) to pick your streaming services and work your watchlist go to a new Google search and type "What to watch". You'll see a settings icon to the top right of the results. Click it and hit edit services.

This will make the "For You" tab work for you. You can rate shows to help it along.

For the most part everything works. You won't have the new settings menu and clicking the screensaver button in the menu will crash it. (Reloads)

Normalize audio volume cCWGTV

Whenever I switch between YouTube, Spotify and Netflix (for example), I’m experiencing huge differences in audio volume. Specifically Spotify is waaay louder than other apps. I constantly have to grab my CC remote to adjust the volume.

Is there any way to normalize the audio volume across apps? I mean, it’s a android device right?

Sony Android TV vs Firestick4K

I have a Sony Bravia with Android tv built in. I’ve been using my Firestick but it overheats sometimes on 4K content.

Will I notice a much better experience using the built in Android TV? I prefer the Firesticks UI interface, but I’m wondering if the “built in” Android TV will offer better picture fidelity or maybe work better on upscaling?

Powering off from mains switch yes/no.

Can I directly power off tv by mains switch or should first power off by remote then switch off from mains.

Realme 32" Android TV is my TV which is an upgrade from my old crt tv paired with a stablizer and I don't know if directly switching off from mains manually or due to less common power cut in my area is safe or not for TV.

Voltage fluctuations is rare in my area but sometimes power can go down for 10-30 minutes and

My main concern is that I am not lazy or impatient to power off Tv first by remote followed by mains switch but I don't have that liberty in case of power cut, so do I need a ups if that's necessary.
