Same. It has several times today as it must be a new glitch.
You've got to press the home and the back buttons together. That's all.
Mine is a solid light. Can't get it to change. Had it blinking earlier on, but it wasn't recognized as in pairing mode. Now it is just stuck on even after pulling the batteries and putting them back in.
The claim is that a firmware upgrade caused them to drain batteries - I followed the instructions in this thread to unpair and re-pair the remote after replacing the batteries (needing to use the Android TV app on my phone)...
Edit: to any other unfortunate soul. I did this...
Remove the batteries from the remote.
Press and hold the Home button.
While holding the Home button, reinsert the batteries.
Hold the button while the LED light is solid.
When the light starts pulsing, release the button.
