Honestly this is driving me nuts.
BBC iplayer on the pc works perfectly with router based smart DNS. Works perfectly on ios and Android as well. No problems. Static routes of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 has been added.
Still, the Sony Android TV blocks me from casting or starting the app. Am I missing something?
I am using smartdnsproxy with no problems. I dont have the DNS set on my router, just use the Smartdns client from the play store. You need to configure it with some details from your SmartDNS account and it works great. I use mainly for peacock TV but still have access to iplayer no problem with the SmartDNS client enabled.

I noticed something similar the other day when adding adguard DNS to my router and BBC iPlayer stopped working. I didn't have time to meas about so just put it back until I get time.
