I’m looking for a way to make a app or shortcut run a single routine from google home or assistant etc like Action blocks but not widgets. Is this possible using intents or something? Or talking to the google api?

Hey i got sony x8000h tv and it got only 6gb storage even tho they said its 12gb, anyway i brought 64gb pendrive and made it as device storage and migrated apps to pendrive

But even tho i migrated apps to pendrive ,when i checked internal storage it says app data is 5.5 gb when it should be minimum 1gb as system apps cant migrate to pendrive..... I dont know what happened can you help my device is soo laggy and startup of tv is too slow and sometimes audio also wont work until i restart tv

Hello guys. A am trying to make a 4k projector with a Sony Xperia Z5 premium screen as my main image source. So everything is gonna be android and I was wondering if after rooting it I could somehow install a tv custom rom or modify that is to look like a tv, I am familiar with tv Launchers I am not looking for that but for the full android tv experience

ES File Explorer used to do this and I loved it! Install ES File Explorer on both my phone and nVidia Shield, then easily remotely sideload apps with apk files from my phone/tablet.

Of course it's a PITA now that ES File Explorer isn't readily available on the Play Store, so I've tried a couple other popular file explorers, but I haven't found one with that feature.

I honestly don't care if it's a file explorer app or not... I just want that particular feature. If I have to pay for a premium version, that's fine by me.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have an android Tv and some of the videos I’ve been trying to cast, don’t work. So I’m looking for a streaming app and I came across ZiniTevi and cucotv but I’m not sure. Anyone use any apps that are similar to those for streaming?

Does anyone else get a black screen while watching videos for about 1 second? Seems like when it happens it's blocking an Ad.

So, I'm very new at this. I have mostly lived off netflix all my life. I do have amazon prime for free deliveries but hardly ever use it to watch on my tv as my tv doesn't have prime button. So I got a chromecast a year ago. I started using prime and youtube and netflix on it. When the pandemic hit, my friends shared links of other shows that are not on these platforms and thank god for chromecast i cast it from my computer.

But now my chromecast isn't casting anymore. In fact it's almost like it's dead coz my computer can't find it. So i'm researching to either get a new chromecast or an android tv or those Nvidia tv things. Please help, what would be a good option for someone like me.

(My mom had has an android tv that is a trainwreck, it can't play anything after a few months, it got slow slowly now to nothing, so I'm always worried if I get an android box it'll be done in a few months)

My budget is like $70 bucks. I might trade in this old chromecast as well.

Hello guys! I've recently bought a smart TV that has Android TV! It's a Tesla 43S605BFS . The problem is that the youtube app lowers the quality. I have noticed that I can watch videos on my PC at 1080p but when i watch the video on my TV, the max quality i can select is 720p. The same goes with 4k videos. If a video is originally 4k, on my TV i can only go to 1080p. It lower the quality by 1 unit.

Does anyone have the same problem? It's my TV that is at fault? Is there a way i can solve this or is this a google problem? Thank you

I'm sold on the Google tv functionality and find it hard to surface content on Android tv - anyone have any intel on when Google tv is rolling out to Sony tvs? (My Sony is a couple of years old if that makes any difference). If it's likely to be more than 3 months I'm tempted to buy the new Chromecast.

Chromecast is requiring a power outlet as TV USB outputs are not powerful enough. I tried plugging it into my TV's USB and it seems that chromecast is working. Is there any reason I shouldn't use TV's USB port to power up my chromecast?

With a VPN Installed on every other device, DNS Leak doesn't show anything, all good.

Just thought I'd try the VPN on the TV and when you do a DNS Leak test it brings up loads of google servers as well as the VPN ip, instead of the one single VPN IP.

Why is this, what can I do to stop that happening?

I did it via Puffin but other browsers don't seem to want to run the test or work very well at all in general?

I have the google tv purchased a few months ago and does anyone know why certain apps are not available? I live in Canada and was really hoping the TSN app would be available but it is not. I can still cast this app from my phone to the Google TV but that is not what i want to do.

Just got my Mecool KM3 and it’s working great.

I noticed that the remote uses infrared, if I put my hand in front of it, the signal won’t catch. Kinda of a bummer since now the box has to be in sight.

Thought it was supposed to be Bluetooth? Or did I get a bad remote. Anyone notice this?

I bought this TV a little more than a month ago. I have no complaints really except for this one . Say I am on my Windows desktop, I start a stream (maybe an NBA game). I can't cast the video directly to the built in chromecast, but I can cast the tab. But that's where the problem arises. The audio continues on perfectly, but once I make the video fullscreen, the video plays at about ~80% speed, which means it only takes a few seconds for the video to get wayyy out of sync with the audio. Obviously this is completely unwatchable.

Interestingly, I can cast the same exact tab playing the same video to my Chromecast Ultra (which is connected to another TV) just fine. Maybe MORE interesting, I can cast the same tab from my Pixelbook to the TCL TV just fine as well. So I am not sure why this issue pops up ONLY when casting a tab from my Windows desktop to the built in Chromecast in the TCL TV.

I've tried Googling but it's tough to nail down this exact issue. Figured I'd throw a dart here. Thanks in advance

UK specific question here; just got a Philips 4K TV in the January sales and I'm in love with it, however today I went to watch something on BBC iPlayer and the app wouldn't load, just had a loading circle which changed to a black screen. Tried ITV hub and 4OD which do the same thing, but apps like Netflix and Disney+ loaded just fine. Already tried pulling the plug/restarting, clearing internet memory and install and then uninstalling updates for it, so I'm a bit stumped!

On my roku, I'm able to have them log in with a different account. Using the CCwGTV I can add another account globally, but can't see a way to switch or let the youtube app be on that user. Am I missing something? thx! (very happy otherwise)
