So I’ve been using my built in android player on my Sony Bravia to stream my IPTV and finally have realized that seems to be the cause of buffering after thinking it was my internet speed.

My question is- is it worth it to buy a Nvidia Tube over the Firestick 4K? I would only be using it to stream my IPTV service. I don’t mind spending the extra money if it’s actually worth it but would rather not if the firestick will suffice.

Hi, I was wondering what you guys think the best WIRED gamepad controller that is compatible with Android TV?

I have a PDP Xbox Controller and unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with Android TV so I was wondering if anyone here has good recommendations.

So I just got a new iPhone which gave me 1 year of Apple TV+ for free which is great, but there isn’t an app. After researching, it looks like it’s only available on some models (which seems silly because why couldn’t it work?), and my model doesn’t have that new airplay update that unlocked “dormant” airplay capabilities. I have the XBR-55x800E. I was able to sideload it but as soon as it opens, it says that “this app is no longer compatible with you tv, please perform a software update.” I go to do an update, and it says the tv is up to date. I also tried to download a bunch of different AirPlay apps but the videos never load or I get error.

Anyone have any success or suggestions? Thanks!

Quick question for Dynalink Android TV Box. There is only the Micro USB port on this device and unless my Google searches are betraying me, I have been able to find an obvious Micro USB hub or splitters that are USB 3.0.

So my question for you guys is, can you tell me if it's possible to expand the ports on this device with USB 3 speeds for LAN and Storage (flash drive)? If so, can you share your method and/or the devices you used?

My shows I am watching on prime are not showing on the 'Continue Watching' section of the Google TV home screen (Chromecast with Google TV)

Also very inconsistent with YouTube TV showing there. For example it shows a movie I was watching a week ago but doesn't show games I am in the middle of watching?

Any insight appreciated if this is as expected or something not working as it should be. Thanks.

Hey has anyone worked out how to load/access ROMS on the googletv for use with either retroarch or standalone emulators? I’m wondering if it’s possible to avoid buying a separate dongle to use a flash drive. Thanks

Sony A1E glitch

Hey guys, first time poster here. I’m stumped. While watching tv earlier today, my Sony A1E flashed the Sony logo and then turned off. I thought maybe it was a panel refresh, so I let it be for a couple of hours. I came back to try and turn it back but it wasn’t responding to any commands. It’s hooked up to a Denon AVR, so sound was still coming through, but no picture. I unplugged the tv from the wall and waited before plugging it back in. It clicked and then the Sony logo appeared and then it went back to black screen.

I find it off because there were no prompts for a panel refresh and I know it doesn’t do it automatically. Plus, the LED indicator light underneath the panel was not lighting up. I reached out to a couple of my friends who are still in the business (A/V repair) and they theorized that it could be on OS issue. I did recently update it with the latest software a couple of weeks ago.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there a glitch with Sony’s latesAndroid OS?

Hi, I'm increasingly finding that after switching apps, the audio (from NVidia Shield) switches down to very low quality (and starts crackling). The first fix was to reboot, but I've since discovered that changing the display resolution also fixes the issue.

Any thoughts on a fix?

I can use ADB commands to switch to YouTube/Netflix and play a specific video. I'm trying to do the same with Disney+. Usually I see the information about the asset when I query status via HomeAssistant. I don't see anything with Disney+ besides that the app is open.

Does anyone know how to do it?

I have TCL and Sony TVs and I would like to know what is the easiest way to stream from an iPad/iPhone?

I have the per file retention period set as forever on tvheadend which works for scheduling recordings through the web browser. When I use kodi to record it sets the file retention period to 3 months. How can I change this to forever?

I own two MiBoxes 4K S, but am looking at some other options for my 3rd TV. Do you guys know or ANY features that the MiBox 4K S has that the Jetstream/Ematic Streamer OR the TiVo 4K streamers DON'T have? If so, what are they?

I'm loving the extra built in ports on Ematic/Jetstream. But am afraid if I'm missing any Dolby or HDR qualities or anything else that a MiBox has?

I also love the TiVo 4K streamer. Love the remote! But the expansion ports hubs are very expensive... Does it have any features that the MiBox or the Jetstream/Ematic don't have?

I constantly watch astronomy and physics videos. I never see videos about aliens on the YouTube Home page on my computer but I constantly see suggestion videos about aliens and other crazy stuff on the YouTube Android TV app. I never watch Yahoo finance and I’m not subscribe to the channel. Yet the Android TV constantly shows me Yahoo finance content.

Sorry about the long explanation but I’m just looking for an app that doesn’t try to pander and force me to watch stations I don’t have any interest in. Thanks for any suggestions.

So we know that when selecting some shows from cable TV is opens up the Peacock app. Mostly Premier League soccer for me. But is it impossible to back out or close this app? I always seem to get stuck in some kind of a yellow circle loading screen or unsure if the app is still running in the background.

Hi everyone, I have a Sony android tv, and I just installed the Google duo app, and I can't use my remote control microphone to talk. Any idea why I can't use that?

So, my LG UHD 770T died and I replaced that with Sony X75H, its been two days since the TV was delivered and these two days are of extreme frustration.

First thing on day one there was issue with casting screen, had to reset the device. On day two all but preinstalled apps were working. Rest everything ie Hotstar, ZEE5, Sony Liv etc just didn't work, reset it again.

Now, on third day some apps are working extremely slow and some dosent work at all. Feels like I had just flushed 60k down the drain. It's been nothing but frustration from past 2 days and Sony support people are not helpful in India.

FYI: WiFi network speed on testing in TV is showing 125 Mbps. So, not an network issue.

I bought a used Philips 50PUK6400 Android TV. This device randomly restarts. Sometimes it works for hours sometimes it reboots every 5 minutes.

Anyone knows about this issue and how to solve it?

I found a website from philips stating it happens due to unstable internet connection mostly with straming apps but lately it happens even whilst I'm just in the main menu. Any help, shared experience or comment (besides 'have you tried a factory reset') is very much appreciated.

What I would also like to find out is how to enter recovery mode.
