Hello everyone! I have a JVC with Android TV and I use a LG SoundBar via optical cable. Unfortunately, the remote of my soundbar broke and I wanted to control the soundbar's volume with the TV remote.

Doing some tests, I discover that I can control the soundbar volume if I connect to the TV via Bluetooth. Can I do the same using an optical cable? Thanks!

Hey everyone, im hoping someone here has a solution to my problem.

I have a Sony Bravia Smart TV (an x900h i think?), with a Soundbar connected via HDMI eARC, and once a week, my apps and tv system sounds stop working. Youtube is stuck on the first frame of every video i try, the other apps take a long time to load and have no sound, and the beeps boops of the UI are suddenly gone. This happens both with and without the sound bar. Using a game console however, the sounds work. It just seems to be the TV's system and apps.

I factory reset the tv and that resolved it, but the problem happens periodically. I dont want to have to go through thirty minutes of setup every week.

All devices are up to date, and no changes are made to settings that might provoke this to happen.

Any idea whats going on and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

So I have a CHiQ (ChangHong) Android TV and a few times a week it'll just turn itself on. There's no pattern to when it'll happen, it seems totally random.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I bought a wireless keyboard and mouse for my Mi Box S. Everything works fine but the mouse. When I want to right click with the mouse it does what the back button on the regular remote. I want to play some but I can't like this. So I've found an app called Button Mapper. With it's pro version I can remap the back button to a custom key (right click in my case). And configure the app to only remap it when I play games. So my question is, is there any better solutions for my problem?

So currently I have mi box s connected to tv via hdmi. My tv have CEC hdmi. One thing I noticed in netflix, I can't choose 5.1 audio unless I choose spdif in mi box s.

Now, I'm planning to get home theater system sony ht rt3. It have analog in, hdmi out, and tv in.

My question is, can I get the 5.1 effect if I connect my tv through hdmi to this new sony home theater system?

Hello! I've been creating a Google Doc of all necessary CoDec's and Containers for x streaming device.. only the popular ones. Do we know what Container, Video and Audio Codecs is this supported? I'm sure I'm missing others...

I looked online and got: But they've been on Forums and such:
Container: MP2T, MP3, MP4, OGG, WAV, WebM
Video CoDec: MPEG2, H.264, H.265 (HEVC), VC-1 (Unsupported or?)
Audio CoDec: AC3, AAC 5.1, DD/DD+, DTS, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD MA, Passthrough: ATMOS

I've sideloaded MD.emu and NES.emu onto my nvidia shield. They work great except that I get an error whenever I try to create a save state. In NES.emu I get "File I/O Error" and in MD.emu I get "File Permission Denied." I also installed SNES 9x Ex+ via the Google Play Store and was able to create save states with that just fine. I'm assuming that MD.emu and NES.emu are throwing errors because they're sideloaded while SNES 9x Ex+ is not. Storage permissions are enabled for all three of these apps. Is there anything I can do to allow the sideloaded emulators to create save states?

First I just wanted to use it to add live channels into my Android TV but now i'm confused which one I should use.

I have Chromecast Plus Google TV and most of the apps (Peacock+, PBS. Paramount+) are failing. They show they are starting, and then the home screen comes back. How can I address this and get it working again?

Can other users who use this app share their config here so we can get the best sync possible, I've had a play around and would love to see if I can get it more accurate

So far my search is telling me that there are only 8 certified AndroidTV boxes in the US. They are:

1. Channel Master-Stream+
2. Ematic-Jetstream TV Box
3. HUMAX VISION Smart Projector
4. Nvidia Shield TV Pro
5. Nvidia Shield TV
6. onn. 2K Streaming Stick (Walmart)
7. Razer Forge TV
8. TiVo Stream 4K

Did I miss anything? Of course there are hundreds of claimed AndroidTV boxes selling on Amazon but as far as I know they are not certified. Right?

I've had a Xiaomi projector with Android TV for a couple of months now and I just found out about live channels and how several apps make it work properly. I managed to install PVR live on my projector but there is no way for me to pay, the second I open the app I get transported to the live channels app and it asks me for credentials, which I don't have. Does anyone know if and how I can fix this?

(Forgive my ignorance on the topic, I'm new to this)

Considering the nice support Android TV has among indie devs & github, it really surprises me that there is not a single good reddit app (that I know of).

Does anyone know of an app I'm unfamiliar with?

I believe there's currently only three options:

1. Hopwatch - basically a good app but its so limited - only videos, no playlist support, ads galore before every single video. IMO its almost unuseable

2. Kodi addons - Really inconvenient and Kodi addons tend to be sluggish

3. Sideloading proper Reddit apps - But good luck navigating with your remote only. / Screencasting via phone (might as well just use the phone then)

I'd easily chip 5 dollars towards a good reddit app.

I have a very weird issue with my Sony xh90 75" and it seems to be that the tv can't open new connections.

It happens randomly but when this occurs I practically don't have Internet. I can browse the web but Netflix, YouTube or anything that it's not http doesn't respond. For example in netflix i can login, check the catalogbut when I try to play one it loads upto 24% and stays there.

I resolve this by restarting the TV but I'd like to find out if this is a known issue or even better if there is any fix.

So I just bought a new TCL 4K TV, it is running Android TV 9 if I'm not wrong. I'd like to know why YouTube is stuttering at 4K or even 1440p. In 1080p it is noticeable but definitely not as much, is it a problem with the operating system being too demanding? I haven't tried Netflix but I suppose it would stutter too.

I just bought this TV so maybe I can return it without a problem but I honestly like it a lot because it's a QLED, the colors are great, the input lag is minimal and the HDR is pretty good for a 500€ TV in Europe (We don't have great value-for-money budget TVs like the TCLs, Hisenses or Vizios that exist in USA btw), only the OS is slow af.

I'd like to know what do you guys think? Do I return it? Do I keep it since I like it? Do I just get a Chromecast, Android TV box/stick in case I want to make use of those features?

Hello. I am the owner of a TCL 50P815 4K TV, and I have some questions.

Ever since I got the TV I've noticed that a lot of the things are "fuzzy" or "blurry" like the UI for example. But I also find the image to be underwhelming also. I've done a lot of browsing regarding this and I have been using adb (Android Developer Bridge)

So my question is if my TV is supposedly 4K, why do I get the output "Physical Size: 1920x1080" from the command: "adb shell wm size"

A bit irrelevant but I had the same TV and it was amazing, the UI was very sharp and nice, image was perfect and well, it lived up to it's description as being a "4k tv" but then I had to get a replacement because there came issues a long the way. So I got the same TV and as I was setting it up I noticed immediately that the quality wasn't as good. Was I just lucky to have an Android TV that had good UI or something? Even with Netflix the UI was 4K. This post maybe doesn't make any sense and I feel like I'm driving myself crazy, or maybe I am crazy. But uhm, yes, I guess the question is about the output.

this is weird, and i mean, really weird... i have a 2 different wi-fi providers, one is far from to the TV so it has lower signal than the other, well the one closer makes my bluetooth headphones stutter so much they’re unusable, when i first noticed i feared the tv had something wrong but by mistake i found it was the network.

i just can’t understand how is this possible
