My mi box won’t open some of my apps. Netflix, primevideo etc work fine (I’m assuming anything downloaded from the play store is working fine). If I try to open Nova tv is launches then closes. I was going to uninstall then reinstall but when I open Downloader, it’s fine but when I click on the browser tab it closes the app I’ve restarted the mi box several times, force stopped all the apps, restarted again. Nothing. Any ideas?

Does anyone know if there is a way to watch a specific OTA channel via a voice command or routine?

I have an HDHomeRun Quad tuner hooked up to my antenna and due to my proximity to a major city I actually get 40+ broadcast channels. I have the HDHomeRun app installed on the Chromecast and it even supports the Google TV's Live Channels app. I don't really care what app it plays through I just want to create a routine that turns on the TV/Receiver and switch to the Chromecast with Google TV (that I can already do because of my Logitech Harmony Hub) then start playing channel 56.2. At this time I can get to the Chromecast home screen.

I can seem to figure out if it's possible or what the syntax would be to do it though Google Assistant.

everytime i change the display resolution to 4k in my mi box 4k it goes back to 1080p automatically after restart.. sometimes 720p. using auto detect mode of display settings always chooses 1080p 60fps. any solution?

Prime video app for android TV doesn't show resolution when a title is playing, like it does on the web browser. Is there any way to know this? (remote shortcut or something?)

I can't download the update of "android TV data server" on my smart (it a saba). I have enough space for the download. So I can't understand why it doesn't work... Someone know how to solve the problem ?

Other apps work, only 4K on Amazon is broken. It doesn't load, and I get the generic "Something went wrong Please try again later. For more help, go to amazon.com/videohelp." garbage.

/r/ShieldAndroidTV is all of a sudden restricted from new posters. What is going on?

so i bought a hisense tv with android tv.

everythings seems fine, working well. Then something happened and chromecast seems to have stopped working. none of my devices can find the tv (network is working just fine)

so i just did a factory reset, and bam, chrome cast working again.

then all of the sudden, android tv seems to have updated. and now chromecast not working again. i feel like the update must be the problem, cuz when i was troubleshooting, i remembered that the first time it stopped, it had updated recently too

not even sure where to start trying to troubleshoot this.

I am having severe input lag issues using my DS4 controller with my modern Sony TV, I have it connected via bluetooth, but its not even useable for navigating the UI let alone gaming, if anyone knows how to fix this please help as i feel like ive looked everywhere for a fix.

I recently purchased a Sony KD-43XH8505 and, on the whole, I'm very pleased with it - particularly the Android TV functionality and UI.

One thing I can't quite understand, though, is why certain apps (notably BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds) are not available in the Google Play Store but instead I have to install them via the 'Sony Select' app. This is not a huge problem but it does slightly compromise how things end up being laid out on the home page - as apps end up split between two locations.

Similarly I'm still a bit bemused as to why Disney+ works pretty seamlessly with the Android 'Play Next' channel, Prime Video half works with it (you can add things to the Play Next channel from the Prime channel, but not from inside the Prime app) and Netflix doesn't work with it at all (except, bizarrely, with any Netflix items that happen to be appearing on the Sony's promotional channel, which can be added to 'Watch Next').

Does anyone have a sense on whether these things are likely to change over time? Is the integration between Sony TVs and Android TV OS likely to become deeper over time, resulting in slightly rough edges like this being smoothed out?

I'm in the UK, using the CCwGTV.

I route the Live Channels app, Pluto TV, and Xumo through a USA VPN.

My most-watched live channel is actually Sky News UK on Pluto TV. It doesn't appear in the channel line-up when accessed via a UK IP.

I can import channels from Pluto TV and Xumo into Live Channels, and save... But after a while, I have to re-import again. It seems to happen every time I turn the TV off and on. I guess it's whenever the CCwGTV goes to sleep.

Is this issue due to my using a VPN, or do others not using a VPN have the same issue?

Is there an alternative to the Live Channels app (which simply imports channels from other apps) that I could try?

Never had it happen before so I am curious if it is a glitch to get used to. The TV just froze. The screen on show ending credits. No response to the remote or power button on the TV itself. Finally just did the high tech move of unplugging it. It's on and working now. Did I just catch a "lucky" glitch?

Can you use the the mibox S with an external HDD or USB stick? I would like to know if i could watch 4K (or 1080p) movies from a external storage device and if it would be possible to add english + dutch subtitels to Them as well using a seperate SRT file. I'm dutch and sometimes to lazy to listen ;) .

I installed the netflix tv app and it says that this device is unsupported and it says (this version of netflix is not compatible with your device (-13).

Is there a different netflix app I can install on my tv ?

I'm from India and I got the new Android TV redesign today. In the Discover tab, the only service I get recommendations from is Prime Video. I tried to add more services but only Prime shows up in that list. What should I do?

Edit: I just realised that I didn't get any redesign. I connected it to US VPN when I switched on my TV and it showed me the new homescreen. After I disconnected, it reverted back.

I have a Hisense 55A71F Android TV that supports Dolby Vision. I can get Dolby Vision 4K working on Emby and Plex clients but need a player that supports it for local content (as in from a flash drive connected to USB). I tried the following:

• Native media player on TV - Supports Dolby Vision and HDMI passthrough for audio but no subtitle support
• MX Player - Supports Dolby Vision if the decoder is HW but audio will be 2 channel only.
• Nova Player - No
• VLC Player - No

Any other player you know that supports local playback of Dolby Vision 4K?
