How can I control the sound bar's volume with the TV remote?

Hello everyone! I have a JVC with Android TV and I use a LG SoundBar via optical cable. Unfortunately, the remote of my soundbar broke and I wanted to control the soundbar's volume with the TV remote.

Doing some tests, I discover that I can control the soundbar volume if I connect to the TV via Bluetooth. Can I do the same using an optical cable? Thanks!

Nope you can't with an optical/toslink connection sorry only works with bt and hdmi arc

If it has hdmi passthru and supports CEC it will use the tv volume.

I was able to do it with my Shield box. I am at work and don't remember where it is in the menus. I can look it up later tonight if interested.
