So with a couple different peoples Google account, when I set up a ccwgtv, out of the box it asks me to install plex, disney + etc, but no YouTube. And when I search the store for YouTube to install the app, it's nowhere. But when I set up a ccwgtv using my personal Google account, set up in the same country with the same region, I have YouTube pre-installed after initial setup. I don't know if it's a bug, an account setting for region or something, and if so how do I change it.

Could anyone familiar with this smack some knowledge on me please.

These same Google accounts that are unable to install YouTube on a ccwgtv have no such issue on an nvidia shield or xiaomi mibox s.

Hi there, I am looking to setup all my office meeting rooms with Android TV Boxes to do streaming for presentations.

I am wondering if anyone has experience doing this and which box would you recommend. We now have appletv, but I have users who are on windows and thus plan to replace all with a more universal tv box. I don't want HDMI cables flying around the room...

I wanted to use only "branded" boxes that come with some resemblance of support.

• Xiaomi MiBox
• Google Chromecast
• Nvidia shield

I would love to receive any sharing of experience, alternatives, etc.

I got Android 10 update on my Sony x900h TV but it’s still showing the old launcher. Not the updated one which is included in Google TV.

After a few months that I haven't used the Mi Box S i plugged it in just to find out that Netflix has stopped working. The error code is ui-800-3. I checked online and tried everything that the Netflix site advised. Restart, reset, clear data and cache, unistall and reinstall! Nothing seems to work.

Can you please help? Any ideas?

I'm trying to get the phone version of ProtonVPN onto my android TV, but it loads the android TV version when I install it. I've tried sideloading by sharing the actual installed APK from my phone, as well as the APK from github, but it ends with the same result. Is there anyway to force the APK to use the phone version?

I mainly want to do this because the android TV version is lacking compared to the mobile version.

Basically I was trying to get my iOS devices to connect to my android tv but it wouldn’t show in the android tv remote app and I uninstalled updates on the android tv remote services app to the stock android version and I checked in the android tv remote app on my iPad and my tv showed up and I could control it again

I'm not at all familiar with how Android TV works in terms of updates compared to mobile Android. As far as I know we can't install custom ROMs like we can on phones when they stop getting updates, so I'm not sure what box to get that will get Android TV 12 quickly.

I have a Sony x900f and the only things I want are a slightly faster navigation and Android 12's refresh rate switching/4k UI, but without losing any functionality like Dolby Vision etc. Aside from that, I would go as cheap as possible since I really don't need much from the box as I use the TV as a monitor often, so this is only for occasional movie/show viewing, not constant use.

Months ago on this sub I found an apk of the Sony Now TV app which had been modified to run on non-Sony Android TV devices. It was working perfectly until a few days ago, when I guess Sky got wind that their subscribers were committing the cardinal sin of watching the stuff they pay for on the wrong type of television and blocked it. Anyone know if there's a working app currently? Thanks.

I just bought a "Chromecast with Google TV", But I see it has Android TV OS 10 on and April 2021 security update, with no updates available...I thought it had Google TV?

I bought a Mi Box S a little while ago and it seems that I have audio issues in anything I use with it. Every couple of minutes there will be a crackle and it skips a bit of audio. This is annoying in itself but sometimes it happens during important dialog. I was thinking it was just an issue with the Mi Boxes but I don't see a lot of people complaining about it (and I know people would if it was common). Do I just have a faulty unit?

I was considering replacing it with the Homatics but they're out of stock. If it's just my unit, I could consider replacing it with another Mi Box but I don't want the issue to repeat itself.

(Just to be clear, this happens with Netflix, Prime, VLC, Spotify, Youtube et al).

Update: After a bit new fiddling, a new TV, bringing the old TV back, it appears it was a problem with the particular HDMI port I was using. I hadn't destroyed the cable so it gets a reprieve.

Hey all. I have an old Sling AirTV Mini that I want to bring back into service, but I don't have Sling anymore, so I plan to disable the Sling app on there and use Button Mapper to remap the buttons to work with YouTube TV and other apps. I'd like to also put some stickers on the remote buttons so that their labels reflect their updated functions. Can anyone help point me in the right direction to get some label stickers made?

I think there has been discussion about custom remote stickers on this sub before, but I can't seem to locate any of the old posts.

Probably a dumb question. I'm thinking of buying Chromecast with Google TV, I already have a TV running Android 9 but it became very slow and buggy.

The thing is I have a huge library of local media files and I use USB drive to connect to the TV and watch them.

Now with Chromecast with Google TV if I connect the USB drive to the TV's USB port will the CcwGTV detect the USB? Can I watch my media files this way?

I'm considering the tivo stream 4k and the Chromecast with Google TV.

The thing is, my TV does have HDMI ARC, but it doesn't support HDMI-CEC volume control (however the CEC on-off switch do work). And more special is that it doesn't support IR so there's no way I can set the remote to control volume with the IR feature.

With the shield tv box (I use it for my sitting room TV), I can set it to adjust volume indepent of the TV. So I cant use the shield remote alone.

I'd like to know if the tivo or the chromecast with google tv has the standalone volume feature, i.e. I can control the its volume independent of the TV volume.

I don't know if I've made myself clear, hope someone can test it for me, thanks.

Is there a device that has more storage? Chromecast or onn doesn’t have sd card expandable storage, and not sure if OS even support offloading or adoptable storage like mobile android

Based on positive reviews I downloaded the app onto my Onn. 4K Android box and it launches just fine. I went to download the Windows client from the developer's website and it takes me to SourceForge, which isn't a problem. The problem is that on SourceForge there are two folders, Linux and Mac, and both are empty - there is no Windows folder from which to download the client. I checked the Microsoft store and there's nothing there either.

Am I missing something here? Is this app dead? Is there an easier/better/faster way to transfer files from my PC to the streaming box?
