i have android box called FPT play box and when i use music app like spotify or soundcould(use APK to download) it just stop playing when i use a web browser .when i use spotify it stop really quickly, and when use soundcloud it stayed longer. while i use the browser i was watching some manga (in site like mangadex) the music player just stop when i changed chapter and i had to press the "next song button" or the pause button to continue the song but after few more time it just stop the music player all together. do anyone know how i can fix this issue pls(sorry for bad grammar)

I want to extended my internal Android TV storage with a flash drive, however I only need it in certain situations (not what you think lol), so I don't wanna burn all 128 GB just for this purpose but rather a ~40 GB partition of it. However, Android TV formats the whole flash drive upon setting up as storage, erasing and removing all existing partitions and merging them into one.

Are there any workarounds you're aware of?

I recently research on Android TV set top boxes from Pay TV and Telco Providers on their Android TV guide website. Where I found out that some Android TV devices even Google certified don't have Netflix or Prime Video Certification, some device have either Netflix or Prime Video only and some have both certification. I don't know why some other streaming apps like Disney Plus can support on all Android tv STB while Netflix and Prime Video need some permission to access to the device. Take for example my Sky Cable Evo box; it has Prime Video on it but not Netflix. Is there money involved here or is the industry practice to be more anti competitive?

Tivimate is good but it's not free. Is there any alternative?

Have a A80J on the way which has Google TV and trying to understand the differences between the basic setup vs the google home one. I’m a little hesitant to jump into having google so tightly integrated with my TV and would like to start with the basic setup. My understanding is even with a basic setup I can setup the TV to connect to WiFi, and the built in apps like Netflix will be possible to use. I do have some questions though:

1. What about say Apple TV? My understanding is this is not pre-bundled software so... will there by any way to get the Apple TV app installed through the basic setup?

2. What about Chromecast? Is there any support for that with the basic setup?

3. In my household there are several people who each subscribe to different services. I have Hulu. My gf has Apple TV. One roommate has HBO, and his gf has Netflix. How does Google Home handle this? Note that we currently use a chromecast dongle on an older TV and as long as each person is on the same WiFi network they can just cast from their respective phone/app (for Apple TV we mirror through a Mac and hdmi though this is a bit annoying)

Just wondering out of curiosity. I bought the box soon after it came out and am still on the cheap heavy duty batteries that came with it. The Android menu still shows the battery life at 99%. I'm just pretty impressed is all.

Hey gang. We just received a new Sony X90J with Google TV. (We recently had a TCL 646, but returned it because it kept powering itself off). I have a very large library of DVDs that I copied into a Plex server. With that in mind, I'd like to be able to access the Plex app on my tv.

I've gone to the installed apps and the Plex app is not listed. I went to the search option on both the home page and the app page and searched for Plex. I also tried "install plex". All searches result in the TV telling me that it is launching Plex, then it sits for a few seconds with the spinning wheel before eventually just going back to whatever screen I was just on. Nothing happens.

When we first set up the TCL (also Google TV), when I searched for Plex, it installed the app for me and then I was able to launch it from the app icon. However, I've tried for quite a while on this new TV and I can't get it to quit trying to launch an app that isn't installed.

I'm reaching out to both Sony and Google, for assistance, but I'm expecting them both to respond by telling me to contact the other company. So, I figured I reach out to the smart, common sense people in this community before I drafted the support requests.

If anyone has any idea, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!!

Hello, I recently purchased the mecool KT1 for it's built in TV tuner but unfortunately not all the live OTA channels have working sound.

I did try and make sure all sound options are on in audio such as aac etc, I'm in the UK if that makes any differences and all other apps work fine.

I did try and use Google's live channels app instead of the pre installed one but it just finds all the channels then quits.

Just got a TV wondering if can play mobile games on it

When I play a high bitrate 4K HDR HEVC movie, the TV overheats after ~50 minutes and thermal throttles, thus stalling playback. Would it be possible to install a fan inside the TV, or perhaps stick it on the outside, to improve cooling?

I have a KEF speaker and VIZIO TV. I use the Chromecast remote to control the KEF speaker volume and power. However the volume up IR code for the speaker and the back button code on the TV overlaps (I've verified it using the original speaker remote) so whenever I turn up the volume the TV also send a back-button signal to Chromecast and this is really annoying. I have to turn off HDMI CEC for the CCWGTV, but this means that I can no longer turn on/off the TV using the CC remote.

So I'd like to know if there's a way to:

- Either block the specific back-button signal from reaching the CCWGTV

- Or block all HDMI CEC signal from reaching the CCWGTV without blocking power on/off (in essence blocking HDMI CEC in the TV->CC direction)

So this was a issue in the past (2020) issue seemed to be fixed for a bit and now I'm here with NO SOUND on the TNT app again! Anyone else having this issue as of October 30th 2021? Anyone have a fix for it?

I have a Xiaomi MI BOX S Android 8.1 Smart 4K Mi TV Box HDR Google Cast Global Version. I have misplaced the remote (or I can't seem to find it anymore). I used to be able to use the Andoid TV app to control my TV, but not anymore. It cannot discover my TV. I am on the same Wi Fi hot spot.

I have purchased a new remote on eBay but apparently I need a remote to control the TV so I can start pairing the new remote with the TV. I cannot control the TV, without a physical remote, and without the Android TV mobile app not working.

What are my options? I've thought of resetting the Mi Box, but apparently I need a remote to do that as well. Any help/ideas is appreciated.

2. Since there is a extra usbc port and the microusb is only for power, assume the slot is for storage expansion . Can one load extra apps on there with usbc thumb drive or is apps limited to hardware storage only?

3. How does one turn off the device? The remote power button keeps turning my tv off, while i want tv on for something else. Can’t seem to configure it like chromecast where the power button turns off chromecast only

So I was browsing my home screen on my Onn Android TV box, and it showed content for prime video in the suggestions tab. I clicked on a show and it took me to the Play Store page and showed 'Prime Video' app and the obvious install button.

So now it seems to be available at least for me, just wondered if anyone else noticed.

I bought the ONN Android TV box from Walmart for $20 recently. It works just as well as the Chromecast w/ GoogleTV in my opinion.

I don't like that the remote has several hard-coded buttons that open certain apps I do not use. I would like to remap to buttons for YoutubeTV (to play/pause), DisneyPlus (to rewind), HBOMax (to forward), Settings (to app switcher). However when I go to Button Remapper app, and try to remap the buttons -- instead of picking up the code it just opens up the respective apps :-(

Has anyone here figured out how to remap these buttons from the ONN Remote?
